It's been over a year since i've been on the forums or even logged into the game, has anything changed? if it still exists or has it died completely?

Yup, you can get into a game and it'll fill up pretty quickly. however I don't think the game is doing as well as before

Back in the day people only went after the coven. The mafia are actually the more recent addition.

It wasn't just the coven. Even psychics. Like the game sucks now since Psychics are with the town even though they are witches.

Same with Retributionist
The blurb says that Necromancer was a Ret that defected to Coven but that's patently false, in reality Necromancers were the OG and Retributionists slapped on a fancy name and defected to Town's side

Not that strange at all honestly. Most people here just stopped playing after a while and just visit the forums. Funnily enough those who actually are active in the game don't visit here mostly.

Town of Salem no longer exists. It was erased from existence a few months ago. If you claim to be playing ToS, you're either lying or are playing a fake version of it. ToS no longer exists and will never return.
