Question for a bunch of anonymous strangers.

As most of you already know, I came out as bisexual roughly two months ago. I, of course, was prepared for the homophobic comments from boomers and other bigoted cishets. What I was caught of guard by, however, was the amount of hate I've received from members of the gay community. I've been told that I'm selfish, can't decide, like to cheat, in a phase, confused, scared to just come out as gay, etc. So I'm coming to you, random internet strangers, to hear your take on the issue.

Is fluid sexuality really that difficult to understand?

Would you have trouble trusting your partner if they were bisexual?

Why do gay and straight people alike seem to have an issue with bisexuality?

As a random Internet stranger who also happens to be bi as well, I will say that as I haven't "come out" offline, and haven't really made much mention of my orientation online, I haven't observed much reaction to my own status. With the first and third questions you ask, however, I would speculate that while bi/pansexuality seems like it should be simple enough to understand, understanding it would require acknowledging the possibility that it can exist, and if someone starts from being convinced that such does not exist, well, it seems to me that people often do not want to admit or sometimes even consider the possibility that they may be wrong.

With the latter of those two claims, how exactly would "coming out" as bisexual be an action that made sense for someone who was actually homosexual? Either claimed orientation would potentially be reacted negatively to by the same groups of people, I would expect, so if someone was scared to come out, wouldn't they just...not do so at all?

I've been told by four different gay men, two women who's sexuality I'm not aware of, and one straight man that I'm actually just gay and I'm scared to admit it.

Pansexual, Polysexual, and omnisexual all fall under the Bisexual umbrella.
Bisexual-Sexual attraction to one's own gender and at least one other gender (Most commonly men and women but not always.)
Polysexual-Sexual attraction to multiple genders, but not all. This also implies that one's own gender is bot always one of the genders that a polysexual person is attracted to.
Omnisexual-Attraction to all genders.
Pansexual-Attraction regardless of gender.
