You fail to tackle how not doubling on the storage is a good idea. The single person investigating could lie about what is missing, be them killer or not. This could not only affect the outcome of this trial if some kind of strange tool or weapon was used, but IF the storage investigator wanted to kill in the future they could also lie about what they took during this night. If we investigated the storage past this night we will definitely find even more items missing, and we would compare it to the list they gave during the first trial and assume whatever they took and omitted from their list was not taken during the first night, but rather the night of the respective investigation taking place. This could be very troublesome depending of the circumstances of this hypothetical future murder. Nothing I cannot solve, but that doesn't make it any less of a headache.

In conclusion, it is dangerous to leave the storage to a single person.

It would be appreciated if another person joined in investigating that room.
