Bad WW win condition

I was playing a game where it was just me (a veteran) and a werewolf left. The werewolf had just killed the last other townie and it gave him the win. However, I still had an alert. Now since he can only attack on full moons I would've been able to alert then, where we would both die (theoretically). Or, the werewolf would wait it out and get a draw. Unless I'm mistaken in how I understand this, this shouldn't have defaulted to werewolf winning.

According to the wiki:
Werewolf has a basic defense
Veteran has a powerful attack

Am I misinformed here or is the win condition wrong?

Since the Vetaran has no way to win in this scenario and could only "spitekill" the Werewolf for a draw, it was decided to add this certain scenario to the stalemate detector. This means, the explained situation is intended.
