Can't Play on New Patch

I just updated the Steam version of the game to the newest patch. I tried to log in three times (twice with normal account info, once with the Login Through Steam button), and all three times my mouse cursor turned into a beach ball and nothing happened. Checking the taskbar showed that the application was not responding.

Edit: Trying to log in through my phone had a similar effect, nothing happened when I pressed the log in button, until the app closed itself. A second attempt at this lead to a server maintenance message, long after pressing the log in button

Is this still occurring?

Edit: I could not login with "sign in with Steam", but with username&password.
Edit2: After some testing I found out that patience is the key, after around 30-60 seconds I was logged in. When I attempted to click around on the client whilst the login process is happening, it crashed.

It works now, but the fact that you still have to wait a really long time for it to load and especially that it makes you think the game has crashed (cursor turning into a beach ball, app saying it's not responding if you check it with the taskbar) is a big problem.

I agree.
Upon testing, one devs was able to receive the same issue than me, but the other two + shape had it go fast.

I checked now and it goes smoothly for me again.
Could you check?
