I guess it wouldn't be a disaster to give the Revenant exactly the Town win condition. "He dies when his target dies" is more important to the theme.

"A retri that makes people not win with town" isn't a balance concern.

Also, theme and balance are both necessary; if you have to destroy the theme for balance, you may as well scrap the role.

To be fair, the wincon is only antitown if a Retri brings back someone a vigilante, a vet or a Jailor kills. Make them unrevivable if killed by them and there ya go, a wincon that is purely protown

The point of giving the Revenant a not-exactly-town goal was to pressure them to kill their target ASAP and go back to the graveyard, even if the Town would benefit more from lynching that player last.

On further consideration, though:
  • Considering the convoluted betrayals Witches will sometimes carry out in All Any, such light pressure is probably not enough.
  • Even if the Revenant wants to lynch his target last, the Mafia has counterplay in deceiving the town as to who is the Revenant's target.
So I will edit the role accordingly.

(For anyone confused by the previous comments: The Revenant was previously a Neutral Chaos with the goal to "live to see your killer die".)

I'm not adding a "cannot revive players killed by townies" restriction, because if that happens the Mafia can then get a 2-for-1 by killing the bumbling Veteran or Jailor, and I find that dynamic interesting.
