Asylum faction

Basic info

Spoiler: Victory conditions

Wins with Asylum
Wins with Survivors
Wins with Witches
Must kill Town
Must kill Mafia
Must kill Serial killers
Must kill Werewolf
Must kill Arsonists
You may spare all others

All Asylum roles that can't kill will become Asylum keeper


Asylum Killing
Spoiler: Asylum Keeper

Summary: You are the keeper of the Salem Asylum

Abilities: You may mind control someone each night

Attributes:
You may have a maximum of four people controlled
Every full moon night you may use one of your victims to attack someone else
The targets may use their actions while under mind control
Your targets won’t know they are under mind control
You will know the role of all the controlees

Goal: kill all who would oppose the Asylum


Asylum Support
Spoiler: Insomniac

Summary: TBA

Abilities: You may give all existing members a small buff

Attributes:
You may use this action 3 times
You must make a controlled target visit yourself to use this ability

Goal: kill all who would oppose the Asylum

Buffs:
Detection immunity
Basic Defense
Roleblock immunity
Astral visits


Sociopath

Summary: You are an unempathatic psychopath who enjoys pain and suffering
Abilities: You may frame/disguise a controlee

Attributes:
You may choose what to disguise the controlee as
The frame and disguise last until 3 days has passed
You may also disguise other Asylum members

Goal: Kill all who would oppose the Asylum


Narccicist
Abilities: You may bind someone each night

Attributes:
- You start with 2 charges and gain one every other night
- When you use this charge you may choose a target to bind
- Anyone who visits your chosen target will have their actions cancelled
- You may bind asylum members as well

Goal: kill all who would oppose you



Asylum Disruption
Spoiler: Addict
Summary: A drug addict which forces people to take drugs

Abilities: Give someone a pill each night

Attributes:
- When the Asylum keeper attacks, the first two targets who have pills will switch abilities for the night.
- The pills wear off when the Asylum keeper attacks.
- The targets won't know their abilities were switched

Goal: Kill all who would oppose the Asylum


Madman

Summary: A crazy man who tricks the mentally challenged

Abilities: Use a controlee to redirect a visit

Attributes:
The controlee will force anyone who visits your target to visit the controlee instead

Goal: kill all who would oppose the faction


Psychologist

Summary: You are a corrupted therapist confusing targets for the asylum

Abilities: confuse someone every night

Attributes:
If the target you confused is lynched the guilty and innocent votes for the next day will be switched

Goal: kill all who would oppose the asylum


Nurse

Summary: You are a nurse who uses medicine to mess with peoples brain

Abilities: delay someones night results every night

Attributes:
- Your target will receive their system messages one night later

Goal: kill all who would oppose the Asylum

You smooshed Arsonist and Witch together and made this. I teensy bit under powered and confusing. Give it buff where he knows the role of the person. Then it will be aokay

Okay that has also been suggested but it seems okay. My only problem is the logic. How does pills swap abilities? Try to make it logical.

Because I don't want a pileof quotes I will reply here

1. What does arso have to do with madman? Read Asylum keeper. He already knows the roles of the controlees.
2. Don't worry about the logic. A common rule in role making is balance>lore. I want to worry about the balance before everything else.

I think the main conceptual problem is that the asylum is a mix of the abusive people who would work at the asylum and the scary crazy patients themselves. You should make it one or the other. My suggestion is to scrap the asylum keeper idea. it’s waaaaay too complicated. (I’ve been in so many games where people get overwhelmed by CL and ruin it.)

Like how coven revolved around the NE witch, asylum should revolve around the jeater! I think the leader of the asylum should have the power to convert someone into a jester every full moon! They should also be immune to the jester’s revenge.

Side note: psychologist should switch the confused person’s votes for that day without telling them! that way, people will be voting suspiciously, and it could potentially swing the votes late game.

Maybe just add hypnotist as it is to this? Why not?

Is this being made for real? I really think the asylum keeper should convert people into jesters on full moons. That would be a crazy meta where people can't overly confirm themselves at the risk of not being able to win if they got converted. Also conversions don't work against basic defense :P
