Assassin

Neutral Evil

You are a professional hitman paid to kill a certain member of the town.

This is my reworked version of my old Assassin role long ago that was pretty bad. Stuff in this color font I'm not sure about and could be changed. Constructive feedback is greatly appreciated.

Attack: Basic
Defense: None (You are given a basic defense until you are attacked)

Abilities: You may choose to attack a player at night.

Attributes:
- If you attack a player they will be dealt a basic attack
- You can only attack once
- You will be given a random town role at the start of the game that you have to kill (You do not know who has the role)
- Your target cannot be a unique role
- You can only attack once
- If the person you killed was the role you had to kill, you win
- If the person you killed was not the role you had to kill, you die (killed by your anonymous employer)
- If the person with the role you need to kill dies and there is no one left with that role, you become a jester
- If your target was healed or jailed you can still attack again
- You are given a basic defense until you are attacked

Goal: Assassinate the [random town role (can't be unique)].

Win Conditions:
Wins with the Town
Wins with Survivors
Wins with the Mafia
Wins with the Serial Killers
Wins with the Arsonists
Wins with the Witches
Wins with the Werewolves
Wins with the Vampires

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is not suspicious.
Investigator: Need help with this...
Consig: Your target is paid to kill. They must be an Assassin!

Achievements:
Spoiler: Hitman
-Win a game as an Assassin
Contract Killer
-WIn 3 games as an Assassin
Professional Gunman
-Win 10 games as an Assassin
Ghost Killer
-Win 25 games as an Assassin
Payday
-Win and survive to the end of the game

Lore:
Spoiler: The assassin took his orders from an anonymous client who he never saw, only received a letter with his assignment and a large sum of money. The assassin planned his mission down to the smallest detail. The night before he tested his gun and practiced his aim for hours. He read his assignment one last time. "KILL THE DOCTOR!" After crumpling it into a ball he tossed the paper into the smoldering fireplace and watched it burn into ash. Then he walked through the dark forest surrounding the town and spotted the black shape of the house from where he had heard the sound of an operation last night. Without a sound, the assassin climbed up the side of the house and through an open window. Finding his target snoring in bed, and the assassin quickly did his job and left the window without a trace.

Honestly I think this role has a decent a mount of potential. I think that becoming a jester is better, because otherwise the role changes from NE to NB.

what if there is two of a role can you kill either of them or does it have to be an
specific person,

also you should not be able to get unique roles as a target to kill also it would to hard esp with jailor mayor and vet since they have means to defend themselves or will have high amount of town protecting them

give the role one auto vest

also if it attack them and they are healed from it it should get its attack back and not die

the idea works but goal is to swingy you are very likely to become jester because your target is very likely to die randomly

If more than one players have the role you have to kill, you can kill either of the players and you would win.

example:
Player A: Assassin, Target: Medium
Player B: Medium
Player C: Medium
Player D: Transporter

If Player A kills Player B, Player A wins and does not have to kill Player C
If Player A kills Player C, Player A wins and does not have to kill Player B
If Player A kills Player D, Player A does not win and becomes a jester instead

So this is an easier version of Executioner that can kill by itself.

no you get one chance to kill if you're wrong you die/become jestor how is that easier

exe cant try multiple times to get someone hanged he doesn't get only one to try to get his target hanged for that one day and then die/be jester if he doesn't succeed after he failed that one day

An Executioner is given the name of the person they have to get lynched, an Assassin is given a random non-unique town role and has to kill a person that has that role with only one chance to do so. It's a different concept

Love this role.
It's balanced because it doesn't get a name, it gets a role, and it has ONE chance.

if the person is jailed or healed and from the attack you should keep the attack

bg and crusader and trapper would still you kill you but with doc and jailor it would be fair

If they shoot someone who isn't their target they should auto-lose but stay as Assassin.

You might need add "defense" to this: - You are given a basic attack until you are attacked

I actually like the idea, but I figured I should say one thing.
How about if the Targets with the role you need to eliminate dies, not to you. And there are none other of that role left, you will switch to a new Target, but only once.
This is to make it more forgiving.

Point stands. If you don't add this it'll be ez to win. Shoot someone n1 and then play as jester or claim survivor to everyone.

Agreed, now that you bring that point to the table, I say this role should be like that.

It's a great way to bring in the concept of a hired killer into a mafia game, and this has the potential to be a great help to the evils.
As for invest results, I'd say: Lookout, Amnesiac, Forger, Coven Leader, or Assassin; or maybe Survivor, Vampire Hunter, Witch/Medusa, Psychic, or Assassin

Edit: Also, change the terrorist achievement condition since Mayor is unique and can't be a target.

I aint supporting this role until you change the "if you shoot someone who's not your target blah blah blah you become a Jester/Surv with no vests". That's just too easy like I said above.

give it two shots and make so if you fail you leave town (same as dieing just diff lore)

this way you dont become jester or surv by random shooting someone n1 cause you would rather be jester then assassin

What if you give it the ability to check once a person to see if they are your target or if they are in a certain alignment?

If they just lose but stay alive they will probably leave the game anyway. How about if you guess wrong they shoot themself like a vig?

You could give it a special death message.

The Assassin was killed by the one who hired them for failing.

Or something like that.

Don’t Lison To Shilster or even Lemonader, They Trash At Scum

They don’t know how to Play Exe/Jester Properly

And their so easy to Scum read as Mafia/Coven/NK

Also This Role is Epic! Would be super fun in Custom!
