(Faction) The Florae

Postby WaveAqualei » Sat Jan 29, 2022 2:03 pm

The Florae Faction

The Florae is basically a second “good faction” that wants to kill all evils and has a rivalry about how Salem is run.
Similar to Town, the Florae are an unconfirmed majority where they do not know who the other Florae are.

If there is a time where there are only Townies and Florae at the end of the game with no roles that are capable of killing on either side, the game will end with the victors being whoever has the most members currently alive.
If the Town and Florae are at a tie, or if either side has a role that is capable of killing, all players will be notified that the Town and Florae are at their wits end. If there is at least one role that is still capable of killing on either side, the game will continue as normal. Otherwise, the amount of votes to put a person on trial will decrease by one, meaning either side can set a player on trial.

Note: the Florae color is (#228f41)

Goal: Exterminate anyone that would harm your tribe.

Victory Conditions:
You win with the Florae
You win with the Survivors
You must kill the Town
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill the Coven
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Werewolves
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Juggernauts
You must kill Vampires
You must kill Plaguebearers
You must kill Pestilence
You may spare anyone else

Hydrangea - Florae (Investigative)
Spoiler: Summary: You are a religious dancer that lurks near the riverbeds.

Defense: None
Unique: Yes
Priority: ?

Abilities:
    - You may dance during the day to summon a rainstorm for the night.
Attributes:

"The following players are dry: (all player names)."

(Mafia/Coven/Neutrals) "It seems that it's going to rain."
Mechanics:
    - Doused players will always appear as drenched. If a player is purged the same night it rains, they will only be drenched if the player visited that night.
    - Framed players will appear as dry. Frames will be removed if a Framed player visits the night it rains.
    - The storm summoned will still happen, regardless if you are roleblocked, controlled, or jailed. It will not rain if you are lynched during the day.
Lore:
A soft gale brushes across the Northern Stream. A young fellow, wearing a flowy cardigan of purples and blues, dances in the riverbed as she sings a timely tune. As the sun shares its final breaths of light, the Mayor calls everyone in for the night.
A muffled bang shakes in the sky, alerting the woman. The clouds knit themselves into a gray pattern of organized chaos. "It is time..." She dries her feet and dashes inside. The light mist becomes a powerful storm in a simple second. She sat in her rocking chair and gazed out the window, knowing that anyone who dared to step foot out tonight would be soaking wet.
The next morning, the Medium was accused of murdering the Mayor. She trembled on the stand, begging for her life, imagining how much longer it would be until she was hauled to the gallows. A hand abruptly sticks out of the crowd:
"…What are you doing? The woman's dry as a bone. Leave her be, she isn't the culprit." She stormed off back into the crowd, now setting a trial on the man who accused the Medium. After a twenty-eight word long sob story describing how he has failed to keep his husband alive had passed, the Town decided to lynch him.
It was the Executioner.

Lore:
An open book rests on a wooden podium, the wind its pages flipping one by one. As the book has returned to the beginning, a powerful draft twists in the hut, causing the leaves of text to turn rapidly until it is finished. The Iris has been summoned, her eyes closed with her head tilted towards the writings. She hovers outdoors and spots a short man tiptoeing near her house. She looks at him in the eye with a numb face.
"Tell me where you're headed. Anxious, he stares at his shoulder refusing to speak. "...fine. Be that way..." She ambles back to her homestead and shuts the door forcefully. Putting her hands on the book she was resurrected from, a blue aura glowed from her willowy figure. With her body now slumped over the stand, her glowing ghost lingered in the shadows. It followed the man to the Mayor's cottage, watching him enter the house and departing out moments later, heading towards the azure gleam. A howl at the moon and a single swing was all it took for him to destruct her spirit. She may be asleep now, but she'll be back.

”No… not like this…” The Tracker kept watch on their prey as it headed in their direction. He wanted to run, but after getting distracted by a bird in the night sky, all he could do was put his hands up to protect himself. A hit on the head was all that was needed to make him unconscious.
Shortly after waking up, he remembers that he was attacked by the Mafia but the Doctor saved him! He tells the Town during the day, thanking the Doctor for saving his life. “The Doctor is a fake!” a child cried out from behind a tree. “I only saw him visited by the Hypnotist!”

    - You will not lose a bullet if more than one person visits your target.
Lore:
The wind blows softly through the trees. A cricket chirps, and the echo bounds through the forest. Softly, a pair of feet creep through the brush. A long pointed thorn is released from its leather quiver. The tip is freshly coated with liquid venom oozing from a poisonous frog that was gifted by a childhood friend. A pair of gray eyes peer through the window of the Bodyguard's house. They watch him fiddle around with his body vest and anxiously look around. "So much worry for such a pitiful excuse of a man," Azalea murmurs as they wait, calmly and carefully, for their moment. This was it; this was their job. Sure it was gory, but it satisfied them.
A string is drawn back, a perfect shot is lied up. Suddenly, a crunch of leaves. Azalea whips around and lets their thorn fling loose. "Damn it... oh well," they disappointingly said to their fellow pet.
The Town wakes up to find the Plaguebearer dead with an arrow between the eyes.

Lore:
"We have to get out of here; he's returned!"
She shot her hand up pointing towards a gray figure: it was the Arsonist! Darting out of their village tucked away in the forest, the two sisters made it to the edge of the wooded maze. The younger of the two couldn't keep one foot in front of the other. Her feet weren't listening, she felt herself getting tired. And then, suddenly, she tumbled. As soon as she cried for help, her sister was there for her. She was always there for her, ever since their mother wilted from a terrible disease.
Something was wrong, however. The elder sister's ankle felt entangled by a twining grapevine; she couldn't free herself. Knowing her life would wither in a few minutes, she embraced her sister's rough skin and swiftly pushed her away. "Go! Keep running north and don't look back, Natala!" She watched her home drown in flames; the one that always protected her from harm's way was gone. Despite her sister's protests, it was all too much. She curled up, refusing to move.
Thinking about her family ached, but she then had an irresistible urge to keep going. After weeks of experimenting in Salem, she developed a lethal dagger that separated itself into noxious darts when thrown. Resting in the bushes during the night, she heard loud footsteps at the Escort's house. It was the man who killed her dear sister at the belle's doorsill. Without giving it a second thought, she hurled it with all of her emotions, hitting him several times in the chest. Nettle knew she could kill her victims immediately, but that wasn't enough for her; the amount of pain she could deliver to her enemies will never be more than the torment she has lived with all this time.

Lore:
The Janitor was headed to work. Not his day job, but his work none the less. It had been a few days since the Mafia kicked into action, but the work has started to pile up, and he couldn't be late lest his head be on the line. He hops over a stone wall, crossing a clearing; a little shortcut that he'd picked up. The underbrush shakes in the wind, leaves crinkling under the natural pressures of the environment. The Janitors footsteps being the only disturbance in the peaceful forest. Suddenly a vine snaps around the Janitor's leg, dragging the man away from his destination and bringing him into a secluded garden full of lush purple flowers and greenery. He claws desperately at the earth, until his arms, too, are bound. Suspended by vines, the Janitor can do nothing but speak.
"I wonder why you struggle so to escape me," boomed an unseen voice. "Ah, Wisteria, you just took me by surprise." His throat is dry, cracking his voice. "You sound nervous. Do you have a reason to be?" "No, I'm just the Mint! On my way to plant some herbs!" Sweat was building up on his forehead.
"Interesting." On the Wisteria's cue, the vines started to pull on the Janitor's arms and legs. "No, no please! I'm telling the truth, really, I am!" The Janitor's pleas fell on deaf ears, as did his screams. The Daffodil had already confirmed that this was no Mint. Wisteria let out a sigh. She never was one to watch the kill. She did her job, and that was that. She waited until the forest lay silent once more, and then crawled back into the shrubs.

A whisper from God enters his home; the Crusader has headed out to protect the Mayor's house tonight. Trouble had been lurking for the past couple of days, but there didn't seem to be anyone causing mayhem at this time. "How disappointing, probably for the best," he said while marching back home. The brave man rests his shield against the wall as the earth started to shake. The day of rapture was here! The Crusader was ready to accept his god’s divine judgment, and stepped outside clad in his holy armor. His faith was shortly lost as he spotted the Juggernaut filled with rage. Quivering in terror, the Crusader mumbled a short prayer, ready to breathe his last.
Just before he could strike, a branch is tossed at the attacker, distracting him from what was coming his way. Two shurikens embezzled with amethyst bustle through the air, piercing both of the Juggernaut's fists. An aureate woman leaps from the Crusader's roof, kicks the brute man in the head, and flips backwards all while landing on one foot. "Stand down; don't take another step further." Enraged, the Juggernaut charges towards the lady in pink. "Aho...steel yourself," the woman yells as she takes out another three stars from her hair. Propelling them towards his chest, she lets them run loose as the dancing blades whistle in the wind. It wasn't strong enough to kill him, but the pain forced him to retreat. She followed him back to his home, learning his identity and who he was pretending to be. The following day, she would lead the execution of the Juggernaut.

Lore:
It was an hour 'til midnight, the raging waterfall drowned out the bitter silence the village usually held tightly. The Spy was prepared to surveillance the one the Mayor asked him to visit. He took a deep breath, spit out his cigar, and strolled to his door. A pungent smell of pinewood entered the house, followed by the Lady of Aroma herself. Her hair was a soft mix of blues and greens, then faded to her natural black color. He took a step towards the opening, knowing it might be a mistake.
"Zoo NOT move!" the woman said sternly. She stomped her heel on the lumber floor and tossed a peacock-feathered pillow in front the rug, then another one at her feet. "SIT!" Knowing his knees were too unstable for him to run outside, he sat down as she lit a stick on incense ablaze. After several minutes passed, the Serial Killer busted through the door. Pulling out his knife, ready to stab the senseless Spy, she shouted, "NO! You are NOT here to ruin MY evening! SIT!" She clasped the silver blade from the psychotic man and threw both her hands out: one launching the weapon into the wall, and the other casting a third cushion on the opposing side of the room. As she started the process over with the Serial Killer, she charmed the Spy to his destination. Her work was extraordinary; magical, even. He was in such a trance state that he didn't even bother with the Consort that walked his way.
"Where are you going, baby? We have a lot of making up to do-" she pulled him in close, but he couldn't feel a thing. Once she smelled the whiff of rosemary that covered his figure, she pushed him away and pranced back home. All he could think about was the fourteen minutes he spent with the woman of his desires. Creeping up to his ordered target, he unlatched the door, tripped on the step, and one look at the housekeeper killed him instantly.
His body may have been turned to stone, but his heart wasn't.

"You have decided to hand out a flower to (player)."
"All players have a gardenia, you may now reveal during the day!"

"(Player) has revealed themselves as the Gardenia!"
Mechanics:
    - There will be a white flower symbol next to anyone's name who has a gardenia in the UI.
    - Players with a gardenia will not know they have one.
    - You do not give out a gardenia to players who visit you.

Nightshade - Florae (Support)

Attack: Basic
Defense: None
Unique: No
Priority: 3 (healing), 5 (attacking)

Abilities:
    - You may use a heal or attack tonic at night.
Attributes:
    - Attacking a player uses up your attack tonic.
    - Successfully healing a player from an attack uses up your heal tonic.
    - You may heal yourself once.
    - Visiting one player recharges your tonics once you have used them up.

"You were attacked but someone nursed you back to health!"
"You were killed by a Nightshade!"
"They were killed by a Nightshade."
Mechanics:
    - If you are controlled you will use your selected tonic on the controller's target. If you did not select one you will do nothing.
    - If you are controlled when you are gathering resources, it will still count as a visit towards your recharge.
Lore:
A single parent with a single child, the Nightshade works days on end to keep her offspring alive. They knew they couldn't keep it up for much longer; they needed a break, but that wasn't possible with the current conditions of Salem. Hoping people would stop asking them for help, they moved their home to a cottage in the woods and planting a sign in the ground that reads "PLEASE KEEP OFF THE GRASS." That didn't seem to have any effect, however; the Doctor begging if they could help him with a procedure, the Lookout asking if they could help him keep watch, even the Mayor requesting if they could stop the suspected Mafia member. It wasn't enough for the town, no matter what Nightshade did. They knew they couldn't rest; their shapeshifting kin was too important to them.
Something changed when they were helping the Investigator look for clues. Noticing a vial with a wine-colored liquid in his pocket, they pointed it out, asking what it was. He began to drink it, calmly stating it was a gift from a friend of the Trapper. Wrapping it up for the night, he opens the door and suddenly falls to the ground, violently beginning to gag. The Nightshade tried to help him, but they didn't having the right amount of medicine to save him; he was dead. Fleeing from the scene, they went back home while running into a woman who looked just like her: it was the Potion Master, the one they idolized during their years of practice. Talking to her made them realize that they didn't have to be the town's puppet anymore.
They hated the thought of killing someone, but it was worth doing if it meant more time with her kin.

If you wish to create a Florae role, you are welcome to do so! Just please be aware of a few guidelines:
    - Do not name your role "Rose"! This is because we already have Rosemary, along with the Mafia being associated with roses.
    - Try to base your role name by its personality. Most of plants I did were flowers, but I also did herbs and ferns. You can name your role after any plant you can think of (such as Toadstool, Cactus, Evergreen, etc.), just try to keep it simple!
    - Use this site if you can't find any flower names: https://www.atozflowers.com/flower/

Other:
    - All Florae appear Good to the Psychic.
    - The Executioner can have any Florae role as their target, excluding the Gardenia and Wisteria.
    - The Retributionist can use Florae corpses. They will have to visit the body once to convert it into a Town body, then they will be able to use it the next night.
    - Retributionist and Necromancer can use: Daffodil, Iris, Sage, Thyme, Azalea, Dahlia, Nettle, Calendula, Lavender, Lily, Mint, Rosemary, Dicentra, Nightshade, Phlox.

Changelog:
    - Buffed Nettle where it can now kill roles with Basic defense.
    - Nerfed Rosemary where it has a cooldown.
    - Buffed Gardenia's votes from 2 to 3 when revealed.
    - Renamed Aloe to Calendula, along with heavily reworking the role.
    - Swapped Mint and Calendula's Investigator results.
    - Swapped Nightshade and Dahlia's Investigator results.
    - Buffed Dahlia where it now visits two players at night instead of one.
    - Buffed Sage where it now can vision players on Full Moon nights.
    - Renamed Carnation to Phlox, along with giving it an extra charge.
    - Renamed Peony to Dicentra, along with making it stop Serial Killer attacks.
    - Nerfed Nightshade's self heal where it can only heal themselves once, along with reducing the cooldown from 2 visits to 1.
    - Moved Calendula's Investigator results to the Investigator one.

Re: Florae Faction

Postby TheTraitorofSalem » Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:55 pm

Summary:
Fancy layout and lore doesn't make this faction balanced. Not enough innovation, besides from like 2-3 roles. Too many morphs or direct copies of Town roles.

Daffodil - Literally just Investigator for another faction. No innovation what so ever
Hydrangea - I dont mind this
Iris - Ok so why should Lookout have a limit of how many visitors it can see, but this doesn't?
Also, town morphs of two or more town roles are bad.
Sage - "- Each night you are alive you will be notified how many players that are in your faction are alive."
Pointless, in AA it won't matter as there's so many other factions that can spawn and this role won't be able to make any difference. In your competitive set-up, it only confirms if the 2 Random Good roles are Town or Flora and then its useless.
Thyme - Good concept, been suggested many times. But would be better as a Town role or a Spy rework
Azalea - So why argue with me that guilt is balanced for Vigilante? When this counter-part doesn't have guilt.
Dahlia - Would honestly be useless most of the times. At least with Transporter, its easier to predict whos gonna get attacked, but you don't have to guess the attacker, you just have to guess someone whos suspicious.
Nettle - Evil role, can't kill Neutrals or Godfather. Most of the time this will kill Town members. So I don't see this working. It's only viable if someone is getting Consort fucked everynight. Other than that you're just guessing hoping an evil visits.
Wisteria - If this exists in this way, then Jailor will have to be exactly the same. But I don't like this nerf at all. Still enforces metas
Aloe - Even/Odd, bad concept. Basic/Powerful defense don't have much difference in a ranked style set-up anyway.
Lavender - So Bodyguard that cannot kill GF/Neutrals that has an investigative aspect to it. Meh. If you're targets attacked twice, Bodyguard (Lavender) should absorb all the damage and die protecting their target. Gets rid of the RNG element
Lily - So a buffed Doctor. No, not as a role which is meant to be apart of a faction as equally balanced as Town.
Nightshade - Same guilt argument
Peony - "Excludes attacking roles" Ok so most of the time you are going to prevent good roles and investigative roles from visiting your target. Preventing a Disguiser, Framer, Consort etc from visiting would not be that detrimental towards the Mafia

I gave up

TheTraitorofSalem wrote:Summary:

But fancy lore for your faction does? Pick a struggle, please.
Also morphs of roles are NOT bad. Consort, Necromancer, Medusa, and Potion Master are examples of role morphs that actually do really well and the community seems to enjoy them a lot, as do I.

Daffodil - Literally just Investigator for another faction. No innovation what so ever

The whole idea of this faction is I want some Florae roles to fake claim Town when Town has majority and vice versa.
Hydrangea - I dont mind this

I forgot to say that this role was accidentally heavily inspired by an old Testing Grounds role called Rain Dancer (you can see here: https://wikimafia.fandom.com/wiki/Rain_Dancer)
Iris - Ok so why should Lookout have a limit of how many visitors it can see, but this doesn't?
Also, town morphs of two or more town roles are bad.

I'm looking for feedback.

I don't plan on having this faction being in AA. If I do I'd probably increase the # of players to 18? I haven't thought much about it yet.
Also it has a second ability on even nights.
Thyme - Good concept, been suggested many times. But would be better as a Town role or a Spy rework

I'm keeping it here. Also Trapper already has this ability.
Azalea - So why argue with me that guilt is balanced for Vigilante? When this counter-part doesn't have guilt.

Unlike Vigilante, Azalea does not have full control as to who it shoots. It gets through Basic defense but if there's one or more visitor it gets redirected.
Dahlia - Would honestly be useless most of the times. At least with Transporter, its easier to predict whos gonna get attacked, but you don't have to guess the attacker, you just have to guess someone whos suspicious.

This is one of the more difficult roles to play. You can try to scum read by getting players to visit yourself. It's better off early late game.
Nettle - Evil role, can't kill Neutrals or Godfather. Most of the time this will kill Town members. So I don't see this working. It's only viable if someone is getting Consort fucked everynight. Other than that you're just guessing hoping an evil visits.

Given that Florae goes against Town this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Wisteria - If this exists in this way, then Jailor will have to be exactly the same. But I don't like this nerf at all. Still enforces metas

Actually in PMs you said this was rather balanced and you liked this. Stop lying, thanks sweetheart.
Aloe - Even/Odd, bad concept. Basic/Powerful defense don't have much difference in a ranked style set-up anyway.

It can save from Vet kills, Werewolf, and Bodyguard. Other than that you're right, Powerful doesn't have too much of a difference.
Lavender - So Bodyguard that cannot kill GF/Neutrals that has an investigative aspect to it. Meh. If you're targets attacked twice, Bodyguard (Lavender) should absorb all the damage and die protecting their target. Gets rid of the RNG element

I actually got rid of all of the RNG out of this role. Most times that your target is attacked twice, you'll die as well as it's part of a rampage.
Lily - So a buffed Doctor. No, not as a role which is meant to be apart of a faction as equally balanced as Town.

Lily cannot protect on even nights, also it would have to stall all Investigative roles for a night if you want "everyone to live". Also I got rid of the chaining meta as Lilies cannot chain since they can't be protected by one another.

There's nothing here for Mint, Rosemary, Carnation, or Gardenia. Not sure if that was intentional.
Nightshade - Same guilt argument

If you are perfectly flawless with your gameplay, you have a 0.25 KPN. But that's if you get the successful heal, which isn't very easy to do.
Peony - "Excludes attacking roles" Ok so most of the time you are going to prevent good roles and investigative roles from visiting your target. Preventing a Disguiser, Framer, Consort etc from visiting would not be that detrimental towards the Mafia

This role is basically the "Ascetic" modifier but gives it to other people for a night.
I gave up

I will say Daffodil, Iris, Wisteria, Gardenia, and Nightshade are not super original. I think Lily is different enough. Just because a role has a "Heal" property doesn't mean it's a duplicate Doctor.

Re: Florae Faction

Postby alex1234321 » Sun Jan 30, 2022 12:54 pm

I like the idea of making a good faction but have not been able to come up with a way to do this. This faction appears to be very well thought-out and contains a good variety of roles.

That being said, it seems like this faction is similar to the Town in terms of its roles and their functions. It contains the same type of roles as Town (investigative, protective, etc.) and the roles are roughly equivalent to Town roles in terms of power. As a result, many of the roles in this faction are either very similar to existing Town roles or would work nicely as completely new Town roles. It would be cool if some of the roles were adapted to have functions not seen in existing Town roles or if the power level changed. Like maybe the Florae roles can be objectively stronger than Town equivalents, but a balanced rolelist would have fewer Florae roles compared to Town.

Overall, I think this is a really good start, and there are a lot of different ways you can go with the faction.

I was planning on adding a ranked rolelist against Coven or Mafia so I don’t want to buff any of the roles too much. Are there any you think need buffs/nerfs?

Wisteria - If this exists in this way, then Jailor will have to be exactly the same. But I don't like this nerf at all. Still enforces metas

Actually, let me quote exactly what I said. "I don't mind your rework, "- Players can still visit your prisoner." 100% agree with this. I get fucked off as any roles when I target a jailed target and I receive this bullshit "you could not perform your abillity because your target was jailed" but it still has the issue of it being a role everyone relies on. I never Jail the same person twice in a row. People only do that to deadlock Mafia Killing. "

"I don't mind your rework" does not equal me saying that your role was rather balanced. I don't mind can mean I tolerate it (but don't have to like it). I also said "it still has the issue of it being a role everyone relies on" which is exactly the same as me saying "Still enforces metas"

Is this the only thing you had to respond to? Out of everything else I said? If so that's a bit disappointing.

And I'm not twisting your words; if you don't specify or elaborate on something I'm forced to create an assumption as to what you meant.

From what I've seen, making a second "Good" faction seems something pretty hard to do, yet this has done it pretty well!
I like a lot of the roles - taking inspiration from, yet not being limited to, Town roles. This adds an air of familiarity while still giving the player something new.
As for each individual role, some of them need some tweaking to balance, but nothing starts perfect.
The game modes - I like, they build on the current games, adding the Florae flare™ and I'd love to play some games of Garden Gambit, see how it goes.

All in all, done well for something difficult to do!

I'm glad you like the chaos gamemode~
What roles do you think need tweaking the most? In my opinion Nettle and Aloe need it the most but I'm not sure how to make them better or more unique.

I think the gamemodes are interesting but I do not think werewolf is the best choice for the classic role list because of how much damage it does, and for new players it could be a little complicated. I think sticking with a SK would be best. :)

I might change it to SK.

Edit: After more thinking I decided to leave it as Werewolf; there are a few FP roles that grant Basic defense and I want this tutorial to explain that not all FP roles grant Powerful defense.

Also I don't want a Neutral Killing role with 1 guaranteed KPN in this rolelist.

Also i think a few of these roles should be "coven exclusive" because their lore has coven in it.

Lore is completely separate from a role - so I don't think making a role coven exclusive just because of its lore is a good idea

but i wanna make sure, the "good" role type in the chaos means town or florae correct?
Yes.
Also i think a few of these roles should be "coven exclusive" because their lore has coven in it.
If this faction gets accepted it will most likely be an expansion as the Coven was, so all roles will be excluded from Classic/Coven.

Also a role list (for 20 players)
Random Florae
Random Florae
Random Florae
Random Florae
Random Florae
Random Good
Random Town
Random Town
Random Town
Random Town
Random Town
Random Mafia
Random Mafia
Random Coven
Random Coven

I'll probably balance a rolelist for this if it gets enough attention, but I'm thinking it would have 21 players. I like this list though!
And this 20 player role list (i think this is classified as chaos)

I'm not sure how the interaction will be between Florae/Town in the "Any" slot so this is something I'll have to come up with as well.

Here is my suggestion for a role for this faction! I like it generally but I feel like Town is still more powerful than this faction. Nightshade may need some editing because it’s quite similar to the role of Witch from Wolvesville. Nevertheless, I highly admire the effort you have put into this faction and to Salocin481, I’m a huge fan of the lores so well done on those.

Tulip- Florae(Support)
Spoiler: Role Name: Tulip
Role Alignment: Florae Support
Attack None
Defense:None

Summary: You are a lonely old spinster longing for romance and affection.

Ability: Choose two people to connect during the Day.

Attributes:
Connecting two people establishes a chat between them during the Night. You can read their chat at Night but will not know who says what. During the following Day, you can also read the private whispers that they send to anyone.

Notifications:

Tulip
“You have decided to connect ___ and ___.”
“You have changed your mind.”
“One of your targets were jailed so they were unable to meet up.”
“You chose to connect a Werewolf/Juggernaut/Pestilence and have been killed by them.”

Connected Target:
“You have been connected with ____.”
“You were connected with a Werewolf/Juggernaut/Pestilence and have been killed by them.”

Goal: Exterminate anyone that would harm your tribe.

Win Conditions:
You win with the Florae
You win with the Survivors
You must kill the Town
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill the Coven
You must kill Witches
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Werewolves
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Juggernauts
You must kill Vampires
You must kill Plaguebearers
You must kill Pestilence
You may spare anyone else.

Special Attributes: Unique and Control-Immune

Investigator Results:
Sheriff - You could not find evidence of wrongdoing. Your target seems innocent.
Investigator/Daffodil- Your target could be a Spy, Blackmailer, Jailor, Wisteria, Phlox, Tulip, or Guardian Angel.
Consigliere/Potion Master/Witch/Coven Leader - Your target wishes to help others find the love she has never experienced. They must be the Tulip!

Additional Information:
-You can choose two targets in the Day to connect.
-Since your visits are in the Day and they are astral, they cannot be detected by Spies, Lookouts or Trackers.
-Your targets can talk to each other on the following Night when connected .
- Your targets will know who they have been connected with.
-If you are role-blocked during the Night, you cannot connect anyone the following Day but you can still see the whispers of the targets you connected the previous Night.
-The day after you connect two people, you can see the whispers they send but not those they receive.
-You can see the chat of the two people you connect at Night but their names will appear as Partner and their chat will be in this colour.
- You can connect yourself as many times as you wish.
-If a dead Medium seances any of the connected targets, they will listen and talk to both the other connected target and the dead Medium. The dead Medium, the connected target and you will only see the other connected target’s end of the conversation.
-If a dead Medium seances you, you will be able to speak to the Medium and read the Partners’ chat at the same time.
-If your target is jailed, during the Night, you will be informed that your matchmaking failed.
-If one of your connected targets can rampage and they chose to stay at home that Night, they will kill you and your other connected target.
-If one of your targets is in the Mafia or Coven or a Vampire, they will be able to speak with the other members of their faction and talk with the other connected target. You will only see their end of the conversation.

Lore:
A sad old woman sits knitting a scarf on a rocking chair. She gets up and looks at some of the framed photos sitting on her chest of drawers. Her nephew’s wedding day, her sister and brother-in-law with their children, her parents’ honeymoon. She heaves a long sigh, yearning for someone who would love her. It was a dream she knew would never come true. Outside, she sees young couples. Couples that, despite their diminutive experience in the world, had acquired what she never could. Love.

She decides to walk around the neighbourhood. Her legs old and rickety, she nearly falls down after stepping foot outside her house. A young man goes to help her. “Are you alright ma’am?” he asks. The Tulip smiles weakly. “Yes dear,” she says, noticing how the young man keeps frequently glancing at another man on the opposite pavement whilst fidgeting shyly. The old lady was determined to help. “Do you love him?” the Tulip asks.
The young man blushes slightly. “Yes ma’am. I do.” he bashfully whispers. The Tulip goes inside and beckons the young man into her house. She leads him to her garden. A place beautifully lit with candles and rich with various vibrant flowers and aromatic herbs. “Invite your sweetheart here anytime,” she says to the young man. “There is a door on the side that leads straight out to the pavement so you don’t even need to knock on my front door to come in!”
The young man has his first date in the Tulip’s garden. And soon, many others come too, uninvited for small parties or intimate dates. The Tulip feels happy. She may not have experienced love but at least she can help others to.

Note: I named this role: The Tulip because Tulip are often flowers associated with romance. Although Roses are more well-known, you made a good argument for not using the word Rose so I hope you are okay with Tulip.

This role is actually quite powerful but I do love the lore!! I could see it being a Power role of some sort if it were unique.

I don’t really like Citizen as a role since it doesn’t do anything; it would be a lot better if it had an ability.

I thought that it wasn’t very powerful considering all it does is make two people chat at night which is why I added the reading whisper ability during the Day. Also it is unique so I guess you can call it a power role if you wish. Thank you for liking the lore though! <3

It doesn’t do *too* much but it can easily confirm its existence and it’s hard to counterclaim. But yes, I do love the lore!

My Psychic role idea from 2016 (before psychic existed) basically did the same thing. Its biggest problem was that it could confirm itself but wasn't super useful for much else. Confirmation is a terrible mechanic but it might not be as bad for Florae if the faction is usually going to be split with the town because being confirmed florae could potentially get you killed by town members.

Ooh, that’s cool! I promise you I most definitely was unaware of another role like this. I guess great minds think alike! Confirmation is useful in this faction I would assume because Town has easily confirmable members and they are high-priority targets so the same would need to be said about this faction too in order to make them relatively equal.

Question for Wave: if a vigi kills a member of the Florae, do they die of guilt the next day?
