Town Support: Time Looper

Role Name:Time Looper


Role Alignment:Town Support


Abilities:
Choose a player to put in a Time Loop


Attributes:
Players in the Time Loop will have their actions on their target delayed for a day.
The target will know what will happen to them
The Time Loop is NOT a roleblock

Goal:
Lynch all criminals and evildoers


Win Conditions:
Wins with Town, Survivors
Must Kill Mafia, Vampires, Arsonist, Serial Killer, Werewolf, Coven, Plaguebearer, Pestillance, and Juggetnaut

Special Attributes:
Priority 2, happens before Escort and Consort

Investigator Results:
Sheriff - Your target seems Innocent
Investigator - Escort, Transporter, Consort, Hypnotist, or Time Looper.
Consigliere - Your target messes with time, they must be a Time Looper

Achievements:
Deja Vu: Win one game as Time Looper
Another One: Win five games as Time Looper
The Future: Win ten games as Time Looper
Chrono Trigger: Win twenty-five games as Time Looper

Lore:The Time Looper was not an ordinary fellow. He was a magician before accusations of Witchcraft began. He stopped performing acts, but he had an obsession with real life magic. He read all sorts of book about Magic, and wanted the fabled Necronomicon. It wasnt very long before he learned how to cast a spell, a spell that pauses a small area for 24 hours. He decided to use this power to help town, stopping people who may be attacked, and allowing a Doctor to heal them.

Hi! I had a few questions abt this role...

So does Time Looper slow down your abilities, or does it slow down the abilities of other players??

Example:
Sally is Sheriff, Jeremy is Time Looper, Wave is Mafioso

Sally targets Wave, Jeremy targets Sally, Wave targets Sally.

Does Sally die and not receive interrogation abilities? or does Sally know Wave is suspicious and Wave doesn't kill Sally yet?

Sally receives the players Sheriff results, and gets notified of their imminent attack. Mafioso receives no message of defense.

This makes a lot more sense.

It reminds me of Chronomancer from Throne of Lies, which I always thought would be a good role to bring over.

I like it overall. Might need to think about how it'd work in terms of knowing what WOULD've happened? Maybe don't let the looped person know what happened?

Like what if you know you're going to be attacked? can you ask for TP to save you? Can LO can just watch you and see the person that's forced to kill you? Can TL infinitely loop the same person? If so, you can keep someone alive... forever, and they're immune to so much more than just a Doc

However, the biggest gripe I have with TL is just.. how easy it is to auto-confirm. Yeah, I get it, half of TS is super easy to confirm, but TL is even more instantly confirmed than Transporter since Hypno doesn't have delay messages.

TL has huge potential, but ESPECIALLY as a non-unique role, it is WAYYY too strong. (Seriously, 4 TL would actually crush maf)

2 TL looping each other will actually be even stronger than a Crus/Doc chain since two TLs would be immune to Arso if both TLs are clear of douses(You'd stop Arso from ever igniting you since they'd be infinitely forced to douse you), Esc/Consort (Since TL is rb immune going before Esc/Cons), CL breaking the chain (Since TL is control immune due to looping), HM final hexes if BOTH TLs aren't hexed (Since you can lock a HM out of the hexed in place), and even a fully leveled up Jugg (Due to looping the attack away).

The only things that can break a TL chain are Pirate, Jailor, Jester, HM with double hex and Arso with douses already ready to go.

SO! my suggestions would be:
Please for the love of everything make TL unique
Remove a looped player from being able to know what is going to happen to them the next night. I would say leaving in people who TARGET a looped player should still be able to know their target was looped, but knowing what's going to happen is way too much info for Town.
