The Vampire Faction

Note: Originally, I made a Vampire rework where I turned the Vampire into a Neutral(Killing) in this post. Now, I've incorporated that rework into this Vampire faction, as the leader of the Vampires. Feedback is appreciated! I could only come up with three(now four) roles so far, so I'd like to see if you guys have any other ideas.

Alignments:

Vampire(Head) - A/The head of the Vampires. One must spawn in the game for the other roles to spawn.
Vampire(Killing) - Same as Mafia.
Vampire(Deception) - Same as Mafia.
Vampire(Support) - Same as Mafia.

Dracula
Attack: None | Defense: Basic
Unique

Alignment -
Vampire (Head)


Abilities -
-Drain the blood of a player at night
-Draining blood will role-block the target
-Drains will bypass any value of Defense a target has
-On Full Moon nights, your drains will role-block the target the FOLLOWING night, and they will know it was a Vampire
-You will also drain the blood of up to one person who visits your target
-Your drained target's results will appear as "Dracula, an Escort, Consort, Transporter, or Hypnotist" until they are no longer drained.
-Each player you drain will grant you a Blood Point


Attributes -
-You cannot drain the same person in a row
-You will lose your Basic defense after being attacked, like the Witch
-You have 4 abilities: Bite, Cloak, Blend, and Settle

-You cannot be controlled

You may spend Blood Points to use abilities. You can choose more than one at a time as long as they both aren't attacking abilities.

1 Blood Point (Bite) - You will deal a Basic attack to any target of your choosing.
1 Blood Point (Cloak) - You will grant yourself or another Vampire Powerful defense for the night.
2 Blood Point (Blend) - You will grant yourself or another Vampire detection immunity and role block immunity from all Town(Investigative) roles for the night.
2 Blood Points (Settle) - You will rampage at your house of choosing, dealing a Basic attack to both the target and at most, two people who visit.

Goal -

Kill all who will not submit to the Vampires.

Notifications
Dracula:
You have decided to drain [Position] tonight.
You have [Number of Blood Points] to use.
You have decided to Attack [Position] tonight.
You have decided to put on your Cloak tonight.
You have decided to Rampage at [Position]'s house tonight.
You have decided to Settle at home tonight.


Player:
Someone occupied your night. You were role-blocked!
You were attacked by a Vampire!
You were attacked by the Vampire you visited!


Full Moon:
You feel your energy fading. You've been drained by a Vampire!


Spy:
Someone occupied your target's night. They were role blocked!
Your target was attacked by a Vampire!
Your target was attacked by the Vampire they visited!


Full Moon:
Your target was drained by a Vampire!


Investigative Results -
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious!
Investigator: Your target could be Dracula, an Escort, Consort, Transporter, or Hypnotist.
Consigliere: Your target is the leader of the Vampires. They must be Dracula!

Abilities -
-You may make a target hallucinate at night, skewing their results for the night
-You may choose another target to focus
-A focused target will appear in the hallucinating target's results, depending on what role they are
-You can focus yourself
-You are not required to focus anybody
-You can also stay home, and make anyone who visits you hallucinate instead


Attributes -
-When you are attacked for the first time, you will lose your Basic defense
-When Dracula dies, you will become the new Dracula, and inherit the previous one's Blood Points with a priority of 3


Every Role Affected:

Town(Investigative)
Sheriff: Will see their target as suspicious if they are innocent, and innocent if they are suspicious.
Lookout: Will see the focused target visit their target, if you did not focus anybody, they will not see anybody visit at all.
Tracker: Will see their target visit the focused player, and will see them visit nobody if you do not focus a target.
Psychic: Their vision will not require at least 1 Evil or Good player.
Investigator: Will receive the results of the focused target. If you do not focus anybody, their target will appear as a Framer, Mist, Jester, or Hex Master.
Spy: Will see the Mafia/Coven only visit your focused target. If you do not focus anybody, they will appear to visit nobody at all.

Town(Protective)
Trapper: Their trap will appear to trigger by the role of the focused player. If you do not focus anybody, there will be no affect.
Bodyguard: If their target is attacked, they will receive no feedback, and if their target isn't attacked, they will receive feedback that they protected their target, but were nursed back to health.
Doctor: If their target is attacked, they will receive no feedback, and if their target isn't attacked, they will receive feedback that they were.
Crusader: If they attack a player, they will receive no feedback, but if they don't attack a player, they will receive feedback that they protected their target

Other:
Vigilante: Will shoot the focused target, however if said target is a Town member, they will not lose a bullet nor commit suicide afterwards. No affect will be taken if you do not focus anybody.


Goal -
Kill all who will not submit to the Vampires.

Mist:
You have decided to make [Position] hallucinate tonight.
You have decided to focus [Position] tonight.
You have decided to focus yourself tonight.


Player:
None.


Spy:
A black mist made your target hallucinate last night!


Investigative Results -
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious!
Investigator: Your target could be a Framer, Mist, Jester, or Hex Master
Consigliere: Your target transforms into a black smoke at night to confuse others. They must be the Mist!

Abilities -
-You may turn into a flock of bats and swarm a player's home at night
-You can swarm your own home twice


Attributes -
-A swarmed home will scare away all visitors
-You will deal a Basic attack to any visitors you've previously encountered, however you can only kill 1 at a time
-To anybody who is swarmed, you will appear to protect them if they are attacked
-The Serial Killer is immune to your swarms
-You cannot swarm the same house twice in a row
-When Dracula dies, you will become the new Dracula, and inherit the previous one's Blood Points with a priority of 2


Goal -
Kill all who will not submit to the Vampires.

Notifications
Shapeshifter:
You have decided to swarm [Position]'s house tonight.
You have decided to swarm your own house tonight.


Player:
A swarm of bats chases after you. You were scared away from your target!
You were attacked but someone protected you!
You were bitten by bats!


Spy:
Your target's house was swarmed by bats!
Your target transformed into a flock of bats!
Your target was bitten by bats!


Investigative Results -
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious!
Investigator: Your target could be a Sheriff, Executioner, Werewolf, Shapeshifter, or Poisoner.
Consigliere: Your target can shapeshift into bats. They must be a Shapeshifter!

Echolocator
Attack: Powerful | Defense: None
Unique

Alignment -
Vampire (Killing)


Abilities -
-You may choose a player to listen closely to each night
-At the end of the night, you will be notified of what your target did that night
-If your target did not visit, you will receive no feedback
-If your target visits you, you will deal a Powerful attack to them
-If your target attacks you, you will grant yourself Powerful defense and retaliate, dealing a Powerful attack to them in return


Attributes -
-When Dracula dies, you will become the new Dracula, and inherit the previous one's Blood Points with a priority of 1


Goal -
Kill all who will not submit to the Vampires.

Echolocator:
You have decided to listen closely for [Position] tonight.
Your target investigated somebody last night! (Investigator, Sheriff, Lookout, Spy, or Tracker)
Your target attacked somebody last night! (Any Killing Role)
Your target protected somebody last night! (Bodyguard, Crusader, Hypnotist)
Your target healed somebody last night! (Doctor, Hypnotist)
Your target role blocked somebody last night! (Escort, Consort, Hypnotist)
Your target talked with somebody last night! (Jailor and Medium)
Your target plundered somebody last night! (Pirate)
You're unsure of what your target did last night. (Arsonist, Hex Master, Coven Leader, Transporter, Trapper, or any Mafia Deception.)


Player:
You were attacked by the Vampire you visited!
You tried to kill your target, but they fought back in retaliation!


Spy:
Your target was attacked by a Vampire!
Your target was attacked by a retaliating Vampire!


Investigative Results -
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious!
Investigator: Your target could be a Medium, Janitor, Retributionist, Necromancer, or Echolocator
Consigliere: Your target possesses a sonar system ability that allows them to hear everything. They must be an Echolocator!

so the base idea seems intresting, but 1 thing

WHY A FACTIONAL ROLE HAS INVINCIBLE DEFENSE

I will echo the call for Mist to not have Invincible Defense. I know its Mist but like.........gameplay design & balance >>> lore & logic. Maybe Powerful Defense. And even that I am hesitant to call for.
I like its ability..........but I've seen roles where its like "Oh each role has a different countereffect" and while I like your countereffects the problem is it is really hard for players---even veteran players---to remember all the different countereffects they cause. I want to keep the countereffects but surely there can be a more efficient & simpler solution. But IDK what it is hahaha.....

Shapeshifter is fine. Actually, it is more than fine. I really like it :D


For Dracula---I don't think Blood Points are all that intuitive....maybe have it be something more akin to Juggernaut wherein for each person you Drain, you gain a new ability? IDK.....i just think it could be a bit more graceful of a system. Also, Cloak i think should just deliver Basic defense, not Powerful Defense. And it should be 1---2---3---4 people Drained.

I've edited so that the Mist has Basic defense until they are attacked, like Dracula(also removed the 'the' part in the name, made it annoying for invest results and wording)

It would be too similar to Juggernaut if it just gained a new ability after each kill. You are supposed to balance out what you use, it's your choice if you want to save up Points for a stronger attack or keep on using them for weak attacks. Think as if you got a GUI similar to of the Potion Master, but for the abilities they have. I agree it's a bit too complicated for new players, but most new players go to Classic anyways.

As for the Mist, the countereffects aren't too complicated. Either it randomizes your results, gives you the opposite of what they should be, or gives you no results at all.

Thanks for the feedback though fr, I'll keep making adjustments later on if it's necessary.

I mean when I was a new Player, I started out in Coven tbh. Which I suppose is avant-garde. Rampage should really be 3 Blood though I think. And I think Cloak should be 2.

Alice is Dracula. N1, she visits Bob. Bob is Jailor & Clara, the Doctor is on Bob. Alice gains 2 Blood--from RBing Bob & Clara. And unlocks the Kill (1 Blood) & Cloak (2 Blood) abilities. N2, she visits Damon. Damon is Arsonist. Alice gains another Blood & unlocks Rampage (3 Blood) by RBing Damon. N3, Alice uses Cloak on herself that night & spends 2 Blood. N4, Alice uses Kill on Clara. Now Alice has 0 Blood left & so the cycle repeats.

I think it could be a bit OP---unable to be controlled, scumshield, can use multiple abilites at the same time......but I do contend it is unique and novel.
Maybe something I was thinking-------the Drained Players REMAIN RBed until the Dracula uses an Ability?
So like in the above example, Clara & Bob would be RBed until Clara uses any of her Abilites. And so on and so forth. that could be novel.

Dracula is kinda reminiscent of Alex's Vampire ReWork as it stands so that could make it POP a bit more I guess.

But I would be heaps keen to hear what others think & say

6/25/21 Edits:

I've now made Mist much less RNG based.

-You can now focus a player after making one hallucinate.
-Said focused player will appear in the hallucinating player's results, here are all the changes:

Lookout: Will see the focused target visit their target, if you did not focus anybody, they will not see anybody visit at all.
Tracker: Will see their target visit the focused player, and will see them visit nobody if you do not focus a target.
Investigator: Will receive the results of the focused target. If you do not focus anybody, their target will appear as a Framer, Mist, Jester, or Hex Master.

Another 6/25/21 Update:


- Added Echolocator as the fourth role of the faction

- Also updated Dracula's abilities, he now has an ability to make himself or another Vampire detection and role block immune, but I removed the original Settle ability, and renamed the Rampage ability to it

Echo should be Vampire Support. It's not really a weird Veteran

Dracula is too complex, it needs to be simplified since that's a lot to take in.

Otherwise, I'm still yet to read every attribute, I got the main gist of each and just letting you know what I thought.
