Pirate's duel has been reworked:
Victims are now able to attempt to use their night action.
Instead of the Pirate having three attack options and the defender having three defense options, both sides now share the same list of actions.
If you win while using a specific action, you will gain a special benefit or action taken against your target.
Attack beats Flank, Flank beats Parry, and Parry beats Attack.
Tying results in both parties performing no action against each other.
ATTACK
If you win when attacking, if you have no attack, you will roleblock your target. If you have an attack you will use it reflexively against your opponent. This will consume bullets for a Vigilante. Serial Killer and Veteran can opt out of this in theory as one can go Cautious and the other is roleblock immune and must alert to kill.
(example: Medium duels Pirate. Pirate chooses flank and Medium chooses attack. Medium has no attack, so the Pirate simply loses the duel.
Vigilante duels Pirate. Pirate flanks and Vigilante attacks. The Vigilante shoots the Pirate.)
FLANK
If you win when flanking, you will ignore roleblocks and controls for the night.
(example: Investigator duels Pirate. Pirate parries and Investigator flanks. As a result, Investigator is able to act normally at night.)
PARRY
If you win while parrying you will gain Basic defense for the night and role block your attacker. In addition, if you are kill capable and parry an opponent's attack you will match their attack power and attack them back.
(example: Medium attacks and Pirate parries while being attacked by a Mafioso. Pirate survives but doesn't kill the Medium as they had no attack.
Jailor attacks and Pirate parries. Pirate deals an Unstoppable attack to Jailor.)
This should add more strategy to duels.
Pirate still only has to win two duels to win.
