Alignment: Neutral Chaos

Attack: Unstoppable

Defense: Basic

Abilities:
Chose someone to reap the souls of.

Investigating the target will tell you who they visited that night, the alignment of the target, and if they meet the requirements for the Reaper to kill, along with how they meet it in more detail.
The attack has a 1 night cool down.

Attributes:
You can talk with the Reaper at night.

Extra Notes: The Reaper can only spawn with the Hound and vice versa.. They do not need to reap the souls of Neutral Benines, Neutral Evils, or the Hound (If the hound survives an attack). If someone is a killing role, but they have never killed in the game, the Reaper isn't required to kill them. For example, if a mafia member turns into a Mafioso, but hasn't killed anyone, you will still win without killing them. You are not required to kill anyone with Invincible defense.

Lore: The Reaper walked out of the portal into the town, with his dog beside him. The dog quickly turned into a human as soon as they exit. "Let's finish the job." They walked into the Jailor's house at night, waiting for him to return from his night time killing of his prisoner. He had previously been saved by the doctor the 2 nights ago, after the now dead Mafioso shot him, who of which got killed the night after by the Reaper himself. The Jailor had cheated death, but he can't escape it. The Jailor walked back into his home, and the Reaper instantly robbed him of his soul. His job was finished, and him and the dog walked back into his portal, and gave away the souls to the leader of the Underworld.

How is it? I wanted to make a sort of different Neutral Killing that isn't just "Kill everyone who would oppose you."

Nice role, but it needs to be in the Neutral(Chaos) alignment because:
  • It can win with town
  • It is a factional role

Some concerns:
  • Win condition is too difficult, they have no way to tell whether someone has or has not killed or been attacked.
  • It can win with too many factions

While this role is neutral by name, it is very obviously town by nature, because most of the people who survive an attack and/or have killed someone are evils. Not only that but this can take up the neutral killing slot in ranked. So basically it becomes a 10v5, with town having an essential extra jailor but with permanent night immunity, since the moment the mafia kills, they become an "enemy" of this role. The moment a vigilante shoots an evil role with basic defense, or the mafia attacks the NE, they also become an "enemy" of the reaper. All this role ends up doing is boosting town's win rate in ranked, which is already pretty high.

The problem is, if a townie kills, now the jailor, vigilante, veteran, crusader, trapper ect. now become the Reaper's target, and these could be important town roles. It also completely messes with the jailor meta if there is no bodyguard or trapper, since the Reaper can just kill the jailor right after the jailor uses an execution.

These concerns do make sense. I'll probably buff the Hound's investigative ability so it would show if the target has defense, has been transported out of harm, or has been protected. Basically it would show if you are required to kill the target, and also go in to more detail about why. I'm not sure how it would work without the Hound, however, so maybe Neutral Chaos would be a better alignment, and the Hound would be guaranteed in each game, along with the Reaper. With it being Neutral Chaos, I don't think it would be a problem with it winning with every faction, since pirate already does the same. The argument I would have though, is that since it directly attacks and kills targets from night 1, which none of the current NCs do, unless you count if the vampire bites someone they can't convert, it would stay in Neutral Killing.
