Juggernaut rework

Postby Confectionery » Wed Sep 23, 2020 5:57 am

Starting Attack and Defence: Basic
Sheriff: Suspicious

Kill someone each night.

Gain new powers with each kill.

The powers you gain depend on the role you kill.

Examples:

Killing Escort/Consort/Pirate/Jailor will grant permanent roleblock immunity. (Will also make you automatically attack super roleblockers if they target you, such as Pirate/Jailor)

Killing a Sheriff, Investigator, Godfather, or any role which would show suspicious to a Sheriff will grant permanent detection immunity.

Killing a Witch/Transporter/Coven member of any sort will grant permanent control immunity.

Killing any Town Protective, Potion Master, Survivors, or Guardian Angels will grant a one time Powerful defence which will be removed upon the first Powerful attack received.
This is the only power that can be replenished.

Killing a Janitor/Forger/Medusa will make your attacks wipe the role and last will of your victims. Does not apply to victims killed via rampage.

Killing a role with any attack value (exception of Crusader, BG and PM without the Defence power, Medusa without the clean power, Pirate/Jailor without the roleblock power), will increase your attack power by one level for each one of these roles you kill.

First attacking role killed: Permanent Powerful attacks.

Second attacking role killed: Permanent Unstoppable attacks.

Killing a role with no ability to be absorbed increases your attack frequency.

First mundane role killed: Kill one additional random visitor to your target. (Can stay home and attack a random visitor for power.)

Second mundane role killed: Permanent Werewolf rampages (only attacks the target and all visitors to the target) (can stay home)
This rampage can sniff out abilities of visitors to your target and add them to your arsenal if they aren't obtained yet.

Third mundane role killed: Permanent Pestilence rampages (attacks target, and visitors to target and self)
Only progresses to this stage if any visitors don't also have a unique power to be added.

Opinions?

So this would be a juggernaut rework, correct? This would be a nice change and buff to the juggernaut, but it may be to hard to implement? I honestly have no idea I'm not a game designer.

This is a really great rework idea! It encourages the juggernaut to choose their targets more wisely, which forces them to use more strategy and planning.
Although I do not agree with certain buffs such as the transporter buff or "mundane" kills, I still think that this would be better than the current juggernaut.

Changed so only roles with an attack value increase your attack.

Although I think there should be some bonus for killing a role with no ability.

Add your own examples below if you want.

Maybe you will gain a buff for one night if you kill one that isn't listed here. Don't know what buff you would get though, and RNG wouldn't be good for it, so maybe you get the least powerful available to you for one night.

I thought of something.

For each kill that you don't take an ability from, you gain a token.

Trying my hardest not to plagiarise off Necromancer, but if you have at least one token, you can use a dead role's ability on someone, once use before it rots. Using a dead role spends one token.

This doesn't even fulfill the same role as a Neutral (Killing) anymore.

OK so I stupidly left something out.

What I meant was you attack your target AND use a dead role's ability on the same night if you have more than one token.

Umm, what? That still isn't Neutral Killing anymore. All abilities and attributes should directly help their killing power, not make it two-roles-in-one
