Jailor (Rework)

Role:
Jailor

Alignment:
Town (Killing)

Changes:
- Replace Jailor's execute with a pardon
- A Jailor will execute their target if they decide not pardon them
- A Jailor may only have 3 pardons
- You will not automatically execute on day 1, and this will not consume a pardon
- You will not consume a pardon if you decide not to jail

Additional Information:
You still target your target when you pardon them, so a Witch will have to control you into your target to force a pardon. Your pardon will be used if you are controlled into your target, and you cannot be controlled into pardoning your target if you have none left. You will not be able to execute anymore if you kill a townie, and you will lose all your pardons because they won't matter anymore.

Removes the consort rbing jailor in a way, makes it go fucking nuts in another way. makes potential witch/cl targeting jailor.

It would strengthen Consort and CL a lot. I love this tbh

So jailor can just infinite exe everyone because he has infinite executions now and no longer has repercussions for killing a townie.

Sorry, my bad. You will not be able to execute anymore if you kill a townie. And yes, you can infinite execute, it just won't come too much in handy. 3 evils executed and you need more means your town is just incompetent. It doesn't happen too often, as by that time, either everyone but you is incompetent or you die from lack of TP or Lookouts.

This prevents Consort from stopping Jailor from exeing a Mafia member

I would also suggest that jailing a revealed Mayor means you do not need to waste a pardon charge to not execute them. You still have the option to execute them, however. (they could be a Vampire).

turns jailor into more of vigilante role then TI role good change

can only get info and not kill 4 nights now so jailing will be reserved for susp roles

this doesnt stop jailor meta though, the jailor is less powerful but still just as confirmable as it was before

witch and consort arent in every ranked game, and jailor will be smart now who it jails until it knows the evil rolelist its a great nerf but doesnt stop jailor meta

It actually makes Consort really powerful in a way. Mafias can know if a mafia member is jailed and if it isn't, Consort can simply roleblock the jailor to guarantee an exe. Coven Leader can both force-pardon her teammates and prevent a pardon. CL can already do that but it brings power to Consort a lot.

Is an ingenius rework but it wont prevent jailor meta, it will just prevent jailor from jailing all nights

Any jailor rework will not prevent jailor meta. It's the lack of scum utility to counter it

With 3 nights of not having to kill (4 if you count N1), the Jailor will be able to jail people pretty much nonstop for the important part of the game.

In the endgame, this change would pressure the Jailor to only jail people he has a strong reason to believe are evil, thus pressuring the player to get better at playing Jailor. I suspect that this change would increase the winrate of Jailors, by decreasing the frequency of idiot Jailors.

Hey guys, I actually really want this added. This is a good solution to chain-jailing Mafia (Killing), since most of a Jailor's pardons will be used by the time they need to stall. This would also make Consort more powerful.

One problem though is that there is basically no way for evils to stop an execution now. It stops a lot of plays by evils that involve witch and consort stopping jailor from killing. Sure, the witch can force a pardon, but that's about as rare as forcing an execution, which basically never happens. It also turns a lot of mafia's draws involving consort into losses.

thats also a problem, jailor wont come out in case of witch or consort, thats ok, but a random escort may force jailor to execute or a witch randoming, so in either case jailor may be forced to exe

It will make Escorts harder to confirm, and will give an excuse for not role blocking in case they role block a quiet Jailor. I don't see much problem with this, because without Jailor meta, some things always have the possibility to happen to the Jailor, and there really isn't a way around this.

The more I thought about it, the more I understand what your trying to go for with only 3 pardons. I realized your trying to change it so Jailor is more a TK role now, while now it's both a TI and TK role. I support this.

Just saying, Serial Killer might not attack the Jailor night 1 if they are jailed (considering adding this), since the Jailor didn't technically pardon the Serial Killer. This means Jailor's won't have to worry about jailing the Serial Killer night one when considering going for Jailor meta
