Role Alignment: Town (Support)


Abilities: During the day, select a person to consult with at night.


Attributes:
- During the day, you may select a person to consult with at night.
- You can only consult with that person once.

Notifications:
When someone is consulted, they will see at the beginning of the night "You are being consulted with tonight."
When the Consultant is pirated, they will see at the beginning of the night "Your day ability has failed because you were pirated!"
When the Consultant is jailed, they will see at the beginning of the night "Your day ability has failed because you were jailed!"
When the Consultant's target is jailed, the Consultant will see at the beginning of the night "Your day ability has failed because your target was jailed!"
When the Consultant's target is jailed, the Consultant's target will see at the beginning of the night "Someone tried consulting with you but you're in jail."
When a Medium is consulted, they will see at the beginning of the night "You cannot speak with the dead tonight because you're being consulted with."
When a Vampire Hunter is consulted, they will see at the beginning of the night "You cannot listen in on the Vampires tonight because you're being consulted with."
When a Disguiser, Forger, Framer, Hypnotist, Janitor, Ambusher, Blackmailer, Consigliere, Consort, Mafioso or Godfather is consulted, they will see at the beginning of the night "You cannot speak with the Mafia tonight because you're being consulted with."
When a Hex Master, Medusa, Necromancer, Potion Master, Poisoner or Coven Leader is consulted, they will see at the beginning of the night "You cannot speak with the Coven tonight because you're being consulted with."
When a Vampire is consulted, they will see at the beginning of the night "You cannot speak with the Vampires tonight because you're being consulted with."
When a member of the Mafia, Coven or Vampires is consulted with, their faction members will see at the beginning of the night "'player' is being consulted with."


Goal: Lynch every criminal and evildoer


Win Conditions:
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Werewolves
You must kill the Vampires
You must kill the Coven
You must kill the Plaguebearer
You must kill the Pestilence
You must kill Juggernaut
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You may spare anyone else.

Investigator Results:
Sheriff - Your target is not suspicious.
Investigator - Your target could be an Spy, Blackmailer, Jailor, Consultant or Guardian Angel.
Consigliere - Your target privately speaks to people at night, they must be a Consultant.

Achievements:
Speaker - Win 1 game as Consultant
Adviser - Win 5 games as Consultant
Influencer - Win 10 games as Consultant
Ph.D. in Survival - Win 25 games as Consultant
Nimble Guidance - Consult with 5 people in one game
The Psychologist - Consult with a Vigilante who put away their gun
My Advice is your Advice - Consult with another Consultant
Assisted Execution - Consult with a Jailor who executes their target that night
Reverse Psychology - Consult with a Veteran that alerts that night.


Additional Information:
- Consulting means visiting the target at night, and speaking to them anonymously.
- Consulting counts as visiting the target.
- The Consultant's name in chat during a consulting will be named "Consultant".
- If Medium is consulted, they won't be able to see the dead's chat.
- If Vampire Hunter is consulted, they won't be able to see the Vampires' chat
- If any member of the Mafia, Coven, or Vampires is consulted, they won't be able to talk to each other however, they can still see if their team selects their night ability.
- You will be killed if you consult with a Veteran that alerts.
- You will be stoned if you consult with a Medusa that Stone Gazes that night.
- Your day ability will fail if your target is jailed.
- Your day ability will fail if you are jailed.
- Your day ability will fail if you are pirated.
- You are not able to consult with a revealed Mayor.
- You can consult with someone who has been pirated.
- You can still consult with someone if you are roleblocked by an Escort or Consort that night.
- If your target is jailed and your day ability fails, you will not be able to consult with them in the future.
- Consulting with someone can spread the plague to them or to you.

Side Notes:

The reason I decided to make this role is, no joke, I had a dream I was actually in Town of Salem and someone consulted with me in it. I felt inspired to make this role.
The benefits of this role for both town and evils are as follows.

- If a Consultant consults with a Jailor, it could benefit or harm the fate of that person.
- if a Consultant consults with a Vampire Hunter or Medium, it could let town possibly confirm two roles that are tricky to confirm, or it could let people fake those roles and trick others more easily. It could also make the Medium & Vampire Hunter lose out on valuable information.
- If a Consultant consults with the Mafia, Coven or Vampires, it can benefit town as that player will be left in the dark with a possible plan that faction formed.
- If a Consultant consults with a Veteran that alerts or a Medusa that stone gazes, then it can benefit the evils.

This role be easily proved or disproven if played incorrectly, for example.

If you pretend to consult with a random person, they can say that they weren't consulted with, and you could be figured out easily
If you consult with a known Veteran or Medusa, you might die.
If you consult with any town and reveal your name to them, they could prove you innocent.
If you consult with any evil roles, then they could lie and say that you never consulted them
If you're on the Mafia and get lucky you could bait a Consultant onto someone and kill them as Ambusher
If you're a role that can Rampage someone's house, you could potentially earn more kills if you rampage someone that's being consulted with.
If the Consultant reveals their name to an evil, then they could kill the Consultant with ease.
And many others.
