What if the community works together to create a role?

I know this isn't really following the format nor is it an actual role idea, but rather a discussion about creating roles.

The Role Ideas thread is for creating roles to add to the game, but there's not really a need for doing so. For now, everything is perfectly fine and balanced so there isn't really a need for this thread to exist. Adding more roles would create more problems instead of solving them.
Unless we're assuming the old roles are getting boring, then yes, adding more roles would make the game a lot more fun. But I feel like it's smarter to use this forum for fixing roles that already exist, such as the spy and poisoner. Maybe it would be better to use this form to suggest role fixes than completely new roles? Or perhaps suggest new game modes that aren't too ridiculous.

Assuming the community does want new roles, then perhaps everyone should work together to create a role or fix current roles. It'd interesting to see a role created and developed by the everyone.

We kind of do this already. Every so often someone's role idea gets replied to with a few suggestions that drastically change the role, and the original author accepts those changes and edits the OP.

And of course current roles get so many "fix idea" threads that it seems like every possible variation on "fix X role" has been proposed, and it remains only to argue about which fix is best.

Well, we do have multiple people who talk to each other sometimes. I think he's referring to that.
