Human Shield(Town Protective)

Postby number2345432 » Sat May 16, 2020 9:13 pm

Human Shield(Town Protective)
Abbreviation: hs, shield

Attack: None
Defense: None

Abilities:
Each day select someone to be a shield for. By the end of that night you must decide whether or not you should put on your vest, by selecting yourself which would grant you Basic Defense and help protect your target.

Attributes:
If you choose not to vest but your target is attacked you will die in their place. In most cases this leaves them untouched.
If you do vest, you will gain basic defense. And if your target is visited, you will be attacked instead and your vest will absorb the damage, as long as the attack is basic. If nothing happens when you vest, it is still used up.
You only have 2 vests
If you don't choose a target during the day, you will have no abilities at night, and no protection.

Mechanics:
- If your target is attacked by a Werewolf, and you are vested only you will die. If you are not vested, both of you will die.
- If your target is selected to be bitten by a Vampire, you will be bitten instead. If you did vest though, none of you will be bitten.
- If your target is ignited by an Arsonist they will be ignited no matter what.
- If your target visits a Veteran on alert, you will be shot and killed instead of your target.
- If your target is visited by an investigative role(investigator, sheriff, consigliere, witch), your target will be investigated by them as usual. This occurs whether or not you vested.
- If your target is controlled by a Witch, you will protect them from anyone they visit, but will not be witched in their place. The Witch will still see their role.
- If your target is framed, disguised as, blackmailed, etc. they will still be so, whether or not you vested.
-If your target is targeted by a lynched Jester, you will see it in chat ahead of everyone else that night, but they will still die and you won't. "Your target died of guilt from lynching the Jester"(bc i want to)
-If your target is transported, they will be transported away and you will become the human shield for whoever they are transported with.
- If roleblocked at night, you will not be able to use your vest, however you can still talk with your desired target
- If your target is jailed, you cannot save them from execution. You will be able to see in chat that your target was jailed and if they were executed.
- You cannot protect your target from being lynched in any way

Winning Conditions:
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill/lynch everyone else

Notes:
- This role may be used to sacrifice yourself for the Mayor, Jailor, etc
- If vested, this role protects both you and your target from Serial Killers, Werewolves, and the Mafia.
- If not vested/vested, this role will protect your target from Veterans, but you will die.
- If not vested/vested, your target can die to Jesters and Arsonists.

Investigative results:
-why bother

Abilities:
Each day select someone to be a shield for. That night, you will be able to speak with your target. Self-confirming town role, this is enough for me to not support this role. By the end of that night you must decide together(or by yourself) whether or not you should put on your vest, which would grant you Basic Defense.

Attributes:
If you choose not to vest but your target is attacked you will die in their place. In most cases this leaves them untouched.

If you don't choose a target during the day, you will have no abilities at night, no protection, and no chat. This should be changed to a night ability, its not good for the HS to have a chat ability.

Mechanics:
- If your target is attacked by a Werewolf, you protect your target from being killed but you will die from powerful attack. If you are vested though, both of you will die from powerful attacks. This makes no sense, have both targets dead because IMO, it is a reverse Coward.
- If your target is selected to be bitten by a Vampire, you will be bitten instead. If you did vest though, none of you will be bitten.
- If your target is ignited by an Arsonist only your target will die, but if you vested that night, both of you will be ignited. Once again, makes no sense as it is inconsistent with current game mechanics. It should be that if the target is doused, the target is still doused despite being protected by a HS.
- If your target visits a Veteran on alert, you will be shot and killed instead of your target(regardless of vested of course) This needs a change, but thinking about it hurts my head.[color]
- If your target is visited by an investigative role(investigator, sheriff, consigliere, witch), your target will be investigated by them as usual. This occurs whether or not you vested.
- If your target is controlled by a [color=#8000FF]Witch
, you will protect them from anyone they visit, but will not be witched in their place. The Witch will still see their role.
- If your target is framed, disguised as, blackmailed, etc. they will still be so, whether or not you vested.
-If your target is targeted by a lynched Jester, you will absorb the blow and die. No. If the transporter cannot stop the Jester, then the HS cannot either.
-If your target is transported, they will be transported away and you will become the human shield for whoever they are transported with. You will be able to talk with the person you choose during the day that night still. If you chose to vest, your efforts will now be put towards the new person.
- If roleblocked at night, you will not be able to use your vest, however you can still talk with your desired target
- If your target is jailed, you cannot save them from execution. You will still be able to talk with them at night, but you will not see the Jailor's messages and the Jailor wont see yours. Only the jailed target can see both. The Jailor's ability should overrule the HS, also make it a night ability.
-If your target is the Werewolf(on a full moon), or Serial Killer you will be killed by them You shouldn't be.
-If you are transported, you will not be able to protect you or your target, leaving both of you prone to attack This makes zero sense, why does transporting yourself to any position where you can still visit your original target change anything?
- You cannot protect your target from being lynched in any way

Winning Conditions:
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill/lynch everyone else

Notes:
- This role may be used to sacrifice yourself for the Mayor, Jailor, etc
- If vested, this role protects both you and your target from Serial Killers, and the Mafia
- If vested this role will lead to both dying to Arsonist or Werewolf, as long as your target is targeted by these evil roles.
- If not vested/vested, this role will protect your target from Veterans and Jesters, but you will die.
- If not vested, you can protect yourself from Werewolves, and Arsonists if they target your target at night

Investigative results:
-why bother

Basically, this need a overhaul, the role IMO should be as close as a reverse of the Coward by GoogleFeud as possible.

So basically what you're saying is the idea isn't bad, but the mechanics of it suck, cause im not a BMG developer aka Im an idiot. ANYWAYS thanks for taking the time to dissect my proposal :)

Seems too much like a nerfed bodyguard.
Damn I'm too lazy to add anything.

If you see "Purple Popcorn" in your game I love you.

This is just a WAY worse Bodyguard. You can't protect someone every night and do you even kill the person that attacks?
