Exile (Town Support)

Role Name:
Exile

Role Alignment:
Town (Support)

Stats:
Attack: None
Defense: None (TODO: Consider the option of having Basic defense)

Abilities:
Visit a player each night. You may only visit non-Town players.

Attributes:
- You may only visit players a few number of times, starting with 1 charge, and gaining one charge per full moon night, up to 3.
- You may select a player to visit during the night, spending a charge.
- Selecting a Town player will cause the visit to fail.
- Visiting a Disguiser's house being disguised as a Town player will not cancel the visit.
- You may not be visited by other Town players. The other players will think you were jailed.

Notifications:
When you are not accepted into a Town player's house:
- You are not accepted in [player]'s house. You are exiled.
When a Town player attempts to visit you:
- Somebody from the town tried to visit you, but they reconsidered it.

When you visit an Exile:
- Your visit failed because your target was in jail.

Goal:
Lynch all criminals and evildoers to prove the town you are worthy of being with them again.

Win Conditions:
Must kill the Mafia.
Must kill the Vampires.
Must kill the Arsonist.
Must kill the Serial Killer.
Must kill the Werewolf.
Must kill the Witches.
Must kill the Coven.
Must kill the Plaguebearer.
Must kill the Pestilence.
Must kill the Juggernaut.
May spare everyone else.

Special Attributes:
- Unique

Investigator Results:
Sheriff, Investigator - Unavailable.
Consigliere - Your target is a long-forgotten townie. They are an Exile.

Achievements:
20 MP - Reconsidered - Win 1 game as Exile.
20 MP - Determined - Win 5 games as Exile.
40 MP - Trustworthy - Win 10 games as Exile.
100 MP - Proven Townie - Win 25 games as Exile.
40 MP - But It's Me - Fail to visit yourself.
40 MP - Unwanted - Have no non-Town player visit you.

Looks like a buffed Sheriff to me. Anyone who comes up "innocent" to this role is confirmed town (and this role is easily confirmed by attempting to visit it, so it can't be claimed by evils).

Even worse, this role function as a trap for evils: anyone who claims to have visited the Exile and not seen them jailed is confirmed evil.

Slightly changed how it works so that it's more balanced; perhaps the charges have to be removed and only allow visiting per 2 days or something.

No, I don't think this role benefits from having its visits limited. That's not a very good nerf for an investigative role.

The obvious way to fix this is to add some uncertainty and remove the self-confirming when visited, but then you just have a Sheriff.

It's supposed to be a Town Support, since it's not an investion type of role.

Potential rework:
- Visit somebody each night to prove your innocence and allow them, and their other visitors to visit you. Players that you have not visited may not be able to visit you.

So the whole point of this role is to be able to prove its own innocence?

But it shouldn't be able to do that, full stop. Townies being able to confirm themselves is bad for the game.

Theoretically the concept was about a townie that was exiled, therefore that's how this was constructed. There was a design dilemma between Neutral and Town, perhaps Neutral would fit better.

Maybe. Seems to me some of the existing Neutral roles can already be roleplayed that way. The Witch in particular has lore that sounds very similar to that.
