Role: Mayor
Ability: A vote counts as 3.
Attributes: Cannot whisper or be whispered to.

Change 1 | A Mayor can be nominated by 75% of town's vote.
Change 2 | Players nominated for Mayor can accept or decline the role.
Changes 3 | Mayors will lose their previous ability.
Change 4 | Their winning conditions and goal will remain the same, so the Mayor may be working with either the town, mafia, or for their own.
Change 5 | Retributionists, Jailors, or revived players cannot accept the Mayor role.

This rework will open up new strategies.
It allows doubt to be cast upon the Mayor- as they could be working against the town.
To become Mayor as a member for the Mafia, they'll need to prove themselves to town, while showing that the Mayor role will be more useful than their prior role.

Neutrals can also utilize this well. Especially Executioners,and Jesters.
Executioner as a Mayor can easily lynch their target.
Jester as a Mayor can hang townies, proving themselves worthy of a lynch.

Killing roles such as Mafia, Serial Killer, and Werewolf, can frame the Mayor by halting their attacks.

What happens if the sole remaining Mafia accepts the position of Mayor? Do they lose their ability to kill?

Does a Serial Killer Mayor lose the ability to kill at night?

Does a Jester Mayor lose his jester haunt?

The remaining Mafia wouldn't be able to kill.
The Serial Killer would lose their ability to kill
I think Jesters should be able to keep their haunt

It bears an uncanny resemblance to the King in Throne of Lies... I'd be against adding it to Town of Salem for that reason (too imitative).

It's a good idea otherwise.
