Thats why auctions are objectively bad.
Sure this mechanic help balance it a little but it still gives advantage to anyone whose timezones matches with the window when the challenge could end and basically guarantee a loss to anyone whose timezone does not match the window when the challenge doesnt end

also cookie is pretty broken, like whoever wins that basically wins the challenge

I don't see the cookie as broken imo, the reason lemon won with the cookie is because quincey bid a million times for it, and most of the times with in increment of 1. Smartest thing to do would be to leave it for the first bidder so they get the least points possible. It was bait.
