Mutiny Created and originally run by Fenraiser This is a variation on the original Mutiny, set, as the title says, in space. You are the latest bunch of ne'er-do-wells and scum taken on board the freighter Covenant, running precious metals to the colonies on Hera 9. In your way are pirates, and yet worse threats.
Basic Mechanics: Spoiler:Game phases are as long as the host deems necessary. Phases will switch from day to night as normal, although gameplay will not be significantly different from each other. Actions are free. They are effective as per the host's judgement. The game will end when all the players die, the ship is destroyed, or the destination has been reached.
Basic Stats:
Mutiny Level: It is the level of how badly things have gone horribly wrong. When it reaches 100%, there will be a special event. It starts at 0. It increases by 10% every phase. A character death/kill will increase the mutiny level by 40% in normal circumstances. An NPC kill will only increase it by 10%. An even going poorly (resulting in moderate+ injury, mass destruction of explored area, allied character/NPC death) increases the Mutiny level by 10% or more, depending on how badly it goes. Prisoners bring the Mutiny level up 6% per phase each. Fighting on board the ship between player characters raises the Mutiny level by 4%. Voyage Level: It is the level at which you are reaching your destination. Every phase it increases by 10%.
Inactivity:
First prod is after 48 hours with no action the second 24 hours after that. Please note, I will check for activity every 24 hours after I begin the game, so it isn't 24 hours between your actions. If you need to be prodded more than twice, you're replaced. Inactive characters may be puppeted until they are replaced by a backup. if no backups are available, then they continue to be puppeted until a new player arrives.
Characters/NPCs:
There are 6 players. Each player has some role on the ship which will give them certain abilities in events and in relation to ship stats. To gain a role, simply /join as that role. First come first serve, and no doubles. Characters shall not pm each other. Everything will be on this thread. Friendly NPCs (if any) are less effective at events and actions than players. Players can choose what kind of profession/character they want. Any character can take any action, but the host will decide what happens.
Events:
Events can decrease or increase any of the stats. Events can kill main characters. Friendly NPCs (if any) can be sent to do events although they will be less effective than regular crew members. Keep an open mind. I reserve final say on events.
Room list: Spoiler:Individual rooms: Small, containing a bunk, and some drawers. One of the drawers opens into a sink. One per player.
Hold: The hold is a large room, currently mostly full of boxes. There is a loading ramp at one end.
Engine room: A square room, one side of which is taken up with the humming machinery of the engine itself. The opposite wall is covered in blinking panels, flashing lights, buttons, dials, valves and switches.
Cockpit: Large, holding four seats, two for a pilot and co-pilot, one weapons, and a navigation area. There is a widescreen taking up one wall.
Laboratory: Large room, with a stainless steel table in the middle. There are numerous scientific and medical instruments on counters around the edge. There is also a sink.
Two shuttles: Small transports, able to hold a small amount of cargo, with four passenger seats, and a pilot seat. They look rather like a minivan, from the inside.
Kitchen/dining room/common room: The kitchen is set against one wall of the room. Much of the rest it is filled with a solid oak table and some chairs. Probably enough to hold ten people at a pinch.
Two airlocks: Unexplored
Washroom: A small stainless steel bathroom. One half is curtained off and holds a sonic shower. The other holds a toilet, and a sink.
