There exists a strange island in the middle of the ocean, isolated from any other land mass. It is said that on this small island exists an extraordinary wealth of biodiversity. Multiple biomes exist in a very small region, and the animals from this island are said to possess a human-like intelligence. Unfortunately, this island is also home to much chaos. The animals of the island struggle to coexist with each other. Seeking to create order, it has been decided that there will be a competition. This competition will determine which animal is best suited to ruling the island. The leader of the animals must be strong, intelligent, and most of all, able to bring the animals together in harmony.
This is a mystery game! You'll be playing on an offsite forum created by me exclusively for this game. No discord is required for this game, however you may use discord to ask the moderator questions if you need to. Please read the instructions on how to join. Do not post in this thread.
Game Size: 12 players
Basic Survivor Rules Spoiler:
The game starts out with multiple (usually 2) tribes. These tribes compete together in challenges, with the winning tribe getting immunity and the losing tribe going to tribal council.
At tribal council, each member of the tribe will vote for another member. The tribe member with the most vote will be eliminated.
Self voting is not allowed
In the event of a tie at tribal council, all non-tied contestants revote (this is important, as ties can occur between 3 or more players). If a tie occurs again, the tied players become immune and all non-immune players draw rocks. One player will be eliminated at random.
In a final 4 tie, tied players will go to a special tiebreaker challenge instead of drawing rocks. This doesn't apply in a final 4 on one tribe before the merge.
At some point, the tribes will merge into one big tribe. After this happens, contestants will compete instead for individual immunity, and everyone will go to tribal council. The player who wins individual immunity cannot be voted out.
At some point, eliminated contestants will join the jury instead of being just eliminated. At the end of the game, jury members will vote between the final 2 or 3 contestants to determine the winner. The player with the most votes wins the game.
Common survivor twists and knowledge Spoiler:
The final tribal council can have 2 or 3 players left. Both have been used, and it won’t be announced yet which it is here.
The jury is usually between 7 and 13 players. If there's a final 2, the jury can't be divisible by 2. If there’s a final 3, it can’t be divisible by 3. In the event of a tie with a final 3 (such as 5-5-0), the untied player will cast the deciding vote.
Merges usually happen between final 9 and final 13.
Hidden immunity idols can exist within the game. These idols can be played up to a certain point at tribal council. Usually they lose their power at final 5 or final 6. If you find an immunity idol, you can play it on someone when you go to cast a vote. If a HII is played on someone, it will be revealed after all votes are cast. All votes cast against that player are nullified, and the player with the next most votes is voted out.
Hidden immunity idols also protect you during rock draws, but can only be played on the initial vote.
Tribe swaps are when tribes are switched up. This can be random, by a draft, or according to an algorithm.
Other twists used on the show include: multiple tribes attending tribal council at once, a double vote advantage, contestants being sent to exile, and eliminated contestants returning via winning a challenge.
General Rules Spoiler:
Be respectful to other players and the moderator(s).
All BMG forum rules should be obeyed, despite the offsite hosting.
Screenshots and direct quotes are not allowed. This rule applies to moderators as well. You may directly quote short things that you can easily remember (eg: Parrot just said to me "Yeet on the other tribe")
This game should be thought of as self-contained. You may not offer alliances in future/other games, money, or other out of game rewards to other players in exchange for actions (eg: I’ll join the next game you make if you don’t vote me). You should also not make similar threats (eg: I’ll kill you in BTM if you don’t ally with me). If you aren’t sure if an action breaks this rule, ask the moderator.
After 24 hours of inactivity, you will be prodded. There will be no replacements after the first 48 hours. After 48 hours of inactivity, players can be modkilled. Modkilled players will lose their spot on the jury if they survive that long.
Failure to submit a vote will result in a self-vote. You may not go inactive in order to purposely self-vote.
Votes and actions can be sent in ahead of time if you wish. Preliminary and conditional actions can also be sent in.
Your goal should be to win the game. Intentionally losing the entire game is strongly frowned upon and could result in bans from future games.
Cheating is strictly prohibited. Cheating includes breaking challenge rules and talking to people about the game outside of the game. Those caught cheating can be banned from future games.
If someone breaks a rule, please report it to the moderator.
Have fun!
Mystery Game Rules Spoiler:
This game will take place on an offsite forum. You will receive a link to this forum after the application process ends, as well as a username and password.
I'll be assigning avatars for this game for consistency reasons. You may include a picture of your animal choices in your application if you want me to use it instead.
You will receive a username corresponding to an animal. You are not allowed to tell other players your identity in the game.
You should not purposely hint at your own identity, talk about other player’s identities, or ask a player who they are. Try to avoid getting identified.
You may also not talk about the game outside of the game forum. If you have questions or just want to rant about something, you can DM me on discord at Parrot#6900. I may also DM you if you become inactive. You'll also have a confessional which you can use however you like.
Identities will be revealed at the end of the game!
Animal Kingdom Spoiler:
The game has 2 main phases. Challenge phase, and tribal phase. You may communicate freely during either, though most challenges should not be discussed outside of tribe forums.
This game will feature 3 methods of communication: PMs, tribe chats, and Biomes. PMs can be sent at any time to members of the same tribe, but can only be sent to 1 player at a time. It is expected that you will use all 3 to your advantage as much as possible. Survivor is a social game after all.
There are 4 biomes in the game. Forest, swamp, desert, and grasslands. Anyone can visit any biome, though Forest and Swamp will thematically be the homes of the two starting tribes.
Every challenge and tribal phase you can pick a new biome to go to. At the start of the next phase, you will be put in that biome. Players in each biome will be given a thread they can post in freely. This means that if they're in your biome, you can speak to members of the opposing tribe! However, you can still not PM them.
In each biome are 15 different places to search. Searching could uncover a variety of interesting things!
Biomes may disappear over time. Be warned…
If you fail to submit a biome action, you will stay in whatever biome you were in previously. You will default to your tribe's biome if this isn't possible.

Since this thread can't be bumped by signups, I'll bump it with cool animal facts!
The Japanese honey bee defends its hive from hornets by surrounding them in a ball and vibrating rapidly. This raises the temperature to a level that the hornet cannot survive. The honeybees can survive a higher temperature than the hornet, so most survive.
The platypus (and other monotremes) have a special sense called electroreception. This allows them to perceive electrical signals given off by prey. While the platypus is underwater, it has its eyes and nostrils closed so this is the only way it can detect food. This sense is also possessed by sharks!
3 days left to signup! We're still a couple short of 12, so don't be too worried about getting in. Spectators are still welcome to apply.
We have a full cast now! But backups and spectators are welcome to apply. Just PM the 3 animals of your choice!
Gonna aim for starting the game 5 PM EST on Monday. It'll take me a bit to set up accounts and permissions, but hopefully I can get it done by then. Being online at that time isn't necessary, just make sure to login sometime within 24 hours.
Challenge 1 has gone up! Make sure you can see your challenge subforum, this is where you'll do the challenge. You should've received an image in your confessional as well.
Deadline for final chip submissions is in 24 hours. If I don't get a submission by then no chips for you. Sooner is better though.
Need to get this game back on schedule, so I will be enforcing deadlines more for the rest of the game. Expect future challenges to be much shorter than this one.
