Overview of M.A.D.

Spoiler: During the Cold War the 2 superpowers, U.S.S.R. and U.S.A, agreed not to nuke each other's on the logic that if they do it will evolve into a nuclear war and eventually M.A.D. or Mutually Assured Destruction.

In this game an obscure country decided to drop a nuke on another. After this several other countries with nuke also decided to drop more nukes at each other and M.A.D. ensues.

Joining

When joined a player must select 1 country, any country. When this is done their country will be mixed into a list of a specific number of different countries decided by the host. The host will also control a country themselves.

Mechanic

Each turn each player must send the host a country from the list to nuke. At the end of the turn the country will be eliminated and revealed whether a player is controlling it or not. The host will also nuke a country using their country although they cannot nuke a player.

Win Condition

To win, a player must eliminate all other players (excluding the host) and be the last one alive.

Draw

In a case where the last 2 players nuke each other it will not be a draw. Instead, the 2 players will win together.

I decided to make this because personally I think M.A.D.’s quite a great game and I’ve bounced the idea of making a hub against a few people so I decided to make it.

Why not the host?


Because the host can’t nuke the player therefore it’s pointless to waste time after killing all the players to also try to find the host

Welp I won first game and came 3rd so im happy.

Hiw about some countries have armies with a certain power and defence stat, u can use it to take over some NPc or player countries so if ur main Hq is nuked u can move HQ to your other annexed country or smth. Higher attack then their defence means you win idk

Also idea: at start player must give hint to host about their country which the host will tell to everyone

2 ppl nuke same country then it says country is nuked without any mention that 2 ppl nuked

Dyao suggested that there should be radioactivity to neighbour or smth but I think it’s a bit unfair

Maybe have an entire map edition with the whole world. Players select a 10 mile radius from the world to be their base then Nuke in a larger radius. If nuke hits base then ded.

But ease of gameplay

Hmm how about:
Each player has 2 countries, one to make nukes, and one as a base
You get a nuke from your manufacturing country every odd turn and a nuke from your base every even turn
So if someone nukes your manufacturing country you still get half a life

And add some form of alliance system that works with expendable countries
