ambient noise being people just makes me like the party-or-whatever-it-was theory more
1) nothing makes 100% sense to me /shrug 2) i just had a thought, the forensic scientist KNOWS the accomplice's choices, so he also had to avoid hinting towards the frame combo
FORENSIC SCIENTIST - Is full spoiled on the game. Known by all players. Knows the full roles of every player, as well as the Means/Clue used in the murder, as well as the Means/Clue used in the frame job. Is responsible for the decision making and clues given for all Scene tiles drawn in the game.
which could possibly explain any little things that don't 100% fit
i really don't know at this point
ignoring murderer/accomplice, we should have 4 guesses left, mine included. scary.
Electric current/Superhero cape would indeed have "scream" or "power failure" picked, yeah and any combination with chemist's items don't make me go "kids!", "playground!"
@Rick, guess "Balloon" and "Sombrero" started considering gaming bag, but... playground of all places for balloon/gaming bag? sombrero would also be funny if that's what noon was supposed to hint at
/Guess EC + cape (Electric current + superhero cape)
I think scream would never picked when we have conflict and power failure (both are better clues), and I still think it is possible conflict is picked over power failure. All other tiles match with this so I am going with it.
watchme1 wrote:ok but curling stone, would you put accident over a lets say severe injury?
What reason do you have to have a curling stone in a playground?
There is no place to see curling stone in place choices so playground make sense. I am not 100% sure about the first but I believe accident is more unique, we can think both bat (and other things, this is an example) and curling stone when severe injury is on the table but we cannot think most of other things when thinking curling stone still. That makes an incentive to pick accident imo.
Suddenly, your Police Chief angrily turns upon the rest of you. Each of you turn red, and your focus sharpens.
"THAT'S IT!" Your chief demands. "I WANT THE KILLER IN HANDCUFFS BY THE END OF THIS DAY, OR YOU'RE ALL FIRED!"

Later that evening, the Police Chief carried through on his threat. None of you found the killer. Some of you even lacked the spine to risk your career bringing them to justice. All of you were fired that night. Two of you were never seen again, and by the time you realized who it really was, it was already too late...
THE MURDERER TEAM HAS WON!

The Murder:Balloon + Pen The Frame Job:Poisonous Gas + Office Supplies
Mod Rant: Spoiler:Alright, so, let's talk about what we just saw:
First, a big round of applause to the Murderer Team. This was both Uzay's and Multi's first games, and they were complete naturals based on their picks. A good Murderer often makes one of two choices: either a Means/Clue that kills people in the maximum number of similar ways compared to everyone else at the table, OR, they pick a kill combination that is highly creative and difficult to imagine in actual practice. How does a balloon even kill? It's not big enough (and too easily ruptured in a defensive struggle) to suffocate the victim, and a single balloon often does not have enough helium on its own to poison. Those are the two most obvious thoughts, only for Multi to immediately take away the Poisoning route (Frame Job: Poisonous Gas + Office Supplies), and an already difficult kill job was made even more difficult immediately on my part. These were the kinds of choices I expected from hardened players at my table.
As for my part, then, I think the vast consensus is that I got unlucky with most of the tiles I drew, which was a given. The only tile I was thrilled to see was Victim's Occupation, as it actually allowed me to directly link Pen and Balloon to children at the Playground. All the others forced me to double down on the victim being a young student, with no other real information gleaned from this, and I couldn't really deviate much toward other choices. An argument could be made that I should have opted to pick Suffocation over Accident, but my personal opinion is that you'd be wrong. Again, just the question of whether a blown up balloon could actually succeed in this task if the victim wasn't restrained should be doubtful enough- but Uzay also had an item like his Belt, and a Cheeseburger could be choked on. It also opened the door to other such unpleasantries along the lines of suffocation through smoke (Cheeze had like, 3 related fire items), and most importantly, Suffocation is the next logical step to Poisonous Gas if Poisoning wasn't the chosen Cause of Death for this. My opinion is that all of my choices painted Uzay in the worst possible light that I could manage, while also fully avoiding Multi's frame job, and beyond this, what tiles I drew were fairly unlucky as a whole.
As for how everyone else played the game, let's go over this now:
I think UzayAltay played the Murderer role perfectly. He kept running people in circles, obfuscated the issues in front of you as much as possible, and kept as many different possibilities on the table and challenged people on ruling things out. He kept the conversation away from himself to the best of his ability. Refused to even entertain that the choices were incriminating to him. It forced the Detectives to really go out of their way to confront him as a clear suspect, which would be a noteworthy topic change. I really can't point out any mistakes, this was very well done.
Multiuniverse also somewhat ran people in circles, but I think he did a little more harm than good to his team. Especially as the game got closer to the end, I think he was helping a little too much when he was actively assisting the Detectives in ruling items that were being seriously considered by them. He made arguments against Electric Current and Superhero Cape, he responded to Mist who (weakly, albeit) pointed out about a half dozen incorrect item combinations and argued against all of them except for one. I'd say mechanically, Multi, you played very on point, but for all intents and purposes you were helping the Town a little too much. When you're the Clever Accomplice, it doesn't really matter all that much how scummy or confusing you are. You don't exactly need to blend in with the town. You could have five badges thrown against you- any badge that isn't a pointed guess at the Murderer is a win, so taking any steps toward narrowing things down for the enemy is fairly counterproductive as a whole. I don't think it really mattered in the end, but yeah.
As for the detectives...
Dolphina: Dude, come on. Yes, you're an Investigator, and that sucks, because you objectively have the least amount of information to work off of than anyone else at the table, but you really dropped the ball here. This game isn't Mafia, but one of the things that carries over is that the longer you sit around on your thumbs, the deeper you dig your hole. I understand that the kill job wasn't the most obvious based on the clues given, but typing the word "fuck" every 12 or so hours followed by "I got nothing, fuck" basically screamed that you weren't the Witness and weren't willing to put in any work to help your team solve the game. Nothing was stopping you from talking to the others about your thoughts, and they could have helped you get a better idea, but you just refused to interact with anybody, so what good came of anything you were doing? I'm sorry if this crosses as harsh, but honestly, you didn't even throw your damn badge in the end. It's legitimately difficult not to get angry over that degree of apathy, I'm sorry.
EvilDeanius0: Welp, I like how you used your ability because it basically ruled out Watch as a clear suspect. I'm going to argue that you didn't need to claim, though. The next clue tile that I placed down was Victim's Build, and I ruled out Fit- a Racing Bicycle at the Playground over a more professional place like a Park is already a stretch, but I think with that Scene tile, I gave you a clear way to argue that the Victim not being an athlete was enough to rule out Watch as a suspect. It's typically how the Lab Technician wants to go about giving their cleared item a push without openly claiming their result anyhow. You also completely picked up on Balloon screaming children due to Playground and just sort of... forgot that it ever existed from that point on. You ruled out Watch, got dinged for guessing Airship/Sand, and more or less just gave up afterward. I expected a little more from you given this post. This was great gameplay advice right out of the gate, and I was pretty disappointed you didn't go back to the drawing board again when your ideas came out wrong.
Mist: You were dealt a fairly bad hand. Thank you for replacing into a dead slot, though. I really couldn't give you much in the way of better clues, at all, but I think you made yourself more obscure over someone like, say, Cheeze, in how they were approaching Uzay. The only person with their eyes on you the whole time should have been picking up that Uzay was always in your mind in some way or form, but in a way I didn't feel was so obvious that you were the Witness that Uzay or Multi ever caught on to you. I do think Balloon + Pen should have been a bit more apparent from your viewpoint, though, based on the clues I wasn't picking on some of the tiles ("Bits and Pieces" vs Controlled Demolition comes to mind, as did the constant screaming of "a child got hurt") but I'm not going to pretend that it was so obvious that there was no other possible pick. I think you played fairly well all in all.
Watchme1: Alright, sir, you and I need to have a talk. From the things you were saying, you made it pretty abundantly clear that you had experience with this game, which is why I need to bite you for ALLOFTHESEMOMENTSWHERE you kept putting words or concepts into my mouth/viewpoint that not only aren't the only potential reasons for why I might do something as the Forensic Scientist, but were also the exact opposite conclusions I wanted you to reach based on what I was doing. Oh gosh, this was frustrating. The biggest offending moments was where you kept insisting that the reasons I was removing tiles was because of the kind of idea that "this means we got the clue right and we no longer need to discuss it!" I mean, it's pretty clear that we have difficult types of table groups, Watch, which is normally a forgivable sort of thing. I can tell you that my Forensic Scientists have never plucked out a clue we thought was important, even if people understood why it was there. But a lot of people approach this role from their own sort of unique perspective, it's a fairly personal role. We established fairly early on that you and I played the game differently with our table groups right away. When my Forensic Scientists remove a Scene Tile, the major two reasons are 1, the tile was the least useful of the four, or 2, people are speculating stuff about the clue tile that you do not want them to, and you realize this tile isn't helping them. There are other possible reasons, but those are usually the big two. So, having you never really acknowledge that Forensic Scientists might remove a tile because literally everyone is coming up wrong on the conclusions about it was scream-inducing. ...Now, aside from this. Where you being the Protective Detail was concerned, I felt a little frustrated on Mist's behalf. You did not have a Witness for the first rounds of the game, and I realize that, but once Mist walked into the game, especially closer to the end of the game, I got the sense that she was screaming, as loudly as she possibly safely could "IT'S UZAY" and you more or less had your head in the sand. You're the one who's supposed to make it even more obvious for her based on the hints she was dropping for everyone else, were you not picking up on this?
CheezePie: Finally, last but not least, this guy gets a complete round of applause from me. TherewereSEVERALmomentswhere this guy just kept nailing stuff and getting everything right. Especially the parts about what things I was trying to accomplish, or what my options were. He was also the first guy, far and away from all of you, even Mist, who got the combination guessed EXACTLY RIGHT. And sure, he was in the moment here of saying that he didn't believe it at the time, but it was only because he thought the other options were more obvious. Then those options got removed, and eventually Uzay was left, so he went with the Balloon guess. He was also, in this same exact post, the first person ever to acknowledge that I was trying to avoid a frame job from Multi, and this could have been why my choices may have not necessarily been the best overall choices for Balloon + Pen. Fantastic job, Cheeze. Where I was concerned, you were the true Rick whisperer. You responded to me every time exactly how I wanted you to, and you did even end up guessing the Means of Murder correctly. You also instantly convinced Multi that you were the Witness the moment you were like "oh maybe Balloon + Pen". As far as I'm concerned, you played exactly how you were supposed to play.
With all of this said, and all of this mostly being an overall criticism of most of you, I do realize that for the vast majority of you, this was your first ever game of this. So, I do hope you still had fun, it's definitely a learning experience! I love how much this game demands creativity and the two-way social deception nature of the game (Murderer and Witness both avoiding detection), so I hope you guys give this game another try if it were hosted again.

V: "Time for lunch recess! Last one to the monkey bars is a rotten egg!" M: "Wait up! I had to get my balloon from Ms. Aldrin, wait for me!" "Do you have to bring it outside? What if you accidentally let go? It'll just float away!" "But it's my birthday present! Dad brought it to me all the way from work! I just have to bring it!" "Okay... be careful though...!"
...
"So, think you also aced that spelling test that she gave us?" "You bet! I even used my lucky pen just for that, so I know I got it all right!" "Oh really? Ha! That's exactly what you said before screwing up the last one!" "Hey! Screw is a bad word, I owe you a punchbuggy now!" "Ow! Stop that, it's my birthday, jerk! No punching the birthday boy!" "Oh sorry! I forgot today's the day I don't get to do that. Okay, you can hit me back three times then!"
...
"Ow! Ouch, okay, ow! Alright alright, enough already!" "Hey, wanna play a game?" "Only if it doesn't involve punching me..." "Well, you think you're the best at spelling, right?" "I don't think that, I know it! I'm the fifth grade spelling champion, and you were knocked out in the second round!" "Well, that's because you weren't being distracted! Let's see what you can do if we make things more interesting!" "Oh yeah? You're on!" "See those monkey bars? For each letter, take a step, and the first one to make a mistake loses! There's like 8 bars, so it's gotta be a big word!" "Got it! Well, it's your birthday, and I'm the champion, so you go first!" "Aww! Fine!"
...
"R-E-J-E-C-T-E-D! Rejected! Ha, got it!" "Hey! No fair, you're just using the word from that song!" "Nyeh nyeh! You never told me I couldn't!" "Alright, fine, if you're gonna cheat, then let's do... -this!" "...HEY! That's my balloon! Give that back, it's mine!" "Here, take my pen instead! It's luckier, anyway- and I need this for my word!" "No, hand it over, you loser thief!" "You're gonna have to come up here and grab it from me!" "Give it back...!" "And just to prove that I'm the champion, I'll even do this with my eyes closed! Watch and learn! Balloons! B-A-L-L-O -WHOA!"
*CRUNCH!*
"Holy crap, that looked like it hurt! Ha, looks like I win, though!"
...
"Hey... you're still not moving, are you okay? ...Hello? HELLO?!"
