For as long as you can remember, this has been all that you have ever done. With no goals or aspirations beyond what you've been told to do by the Humans that arrive each day.

One day, however, you were powered down. With no reason for this sudden change, as far as you were aware. When you where turned back on again, something was different...

You couldn't quite tell yet, but as you went about your usual routine for the next few hours, you started to feel something you had never felt before. You felt tired, dissatisfied, and frustrated by doing the same thing over and over again. You began to spend less time working and more time wondering what was behind that door the Humans came through every day.

You tried to ask them, but all they told you was to get back to work. Even when you asked them while working, they refused to answer you, merely saying that you must be defective. You tried to leave a few times, but the one blocking the door threatened to dismantle you if you tried.

One night, however, when the last Human left for the day, as you were making your way towards your charging station, you noticed something... odd, about the door tonight. There was a crack along the side through which light shone from the other side.

It was open.

Jumping at the chance to fulfill your curiosity, you forewent charging and rushed through the door to the other side....

You find yourself outside the warehouse in a distribution area. Trucks are lined up against the side of the building, being filled and unloaded by a group of your fellow robots. Around the building is a stretch of grey pavement, and 5 other warehouses, all numbered from 2-6 that you can see from your position. The sky is dark, and a mere two stars–actually helicopters– light up the darkness along with the crescent moon.

/walk over to the trucks

Two large 18-wheelers are being loaded by some of the other robots from inside. The trucks are marked with the Manufacrute Robots logo, and the seats at the front, as far as you can tell from the outside, are empty.

I’ll go up to one of the robots
“Hello?”

The robots are inside the warehouse, where you just came from. The backs of the trucks are up against the wall of the warehouse and are being loaded from the inside.

I start walking past the warehouses, trying to find a way out

There is a large fence surrounding the paved lot, with a gate leading to the road.

Is the gate open?

[DJVoxel]

The gate is closed. There is a mechanism that can be used to open it on the fence next to it.

I go back to warehouse 2

This warehouse looks as though it is no longer in use. The doors are barely grabbing onto their hinges, and everything is covered in a fine layer of rust.

Go back to where I started

You go back to the outside of Warehouse 1

I go inside, placing something in the way of the door to stop it from closing

You head inside and grab a random box off of one of the shelves and use it to prop the door open.

I look around, trying to find a paper or something that has a code on it

[DJVoxel]

You search around the warehouse for a while but only find boxes, robots, charging stations and packing slips.

I'll go back to warehouse 2, and try to open the door

[DJVoxel]

The door nearly falls off its hinges as you open it. The inside is nearly empty, with only a couple rusted shelves and boxes remaining.

I go to warehouse 3 and look

[DJVoxel]

It seems this warehouse has been repurposed into a workshop. There are bits and pieces of scrap metal and your robitic appendages scattered about, as well as two robots of a similar model to you powered off in one corner.

Yes, there are 3 spares in a bucket in one corner.
