The constant frantic tapping of a keyboard sounds from your left. You seem to be lying down on a flat surface, possibly a table. There is a power source plugged into the back of your neck, and another cable plugged into your chest. The person tapping at the keyboard begins to speak.

"What the hell?!" a raspy male-sounding voice asks in disbelief.

"Something wrong?" Another voice responds from your right, with a far smoother delivery.

"The probe isn't responding!"

A few quick footsteps sound from right to left as the body of the smoother voice moves towards their partner.

"Let's see...."

Neither of them seem to realize you've disabled the lockdown yet.

I will scan my surrounding and the two other occupants present

You silently scan the area around you.

Your scan confirms your suspicions. You are indeed lying prone on a flat table work bench. You and the other occupants are in a small ramshackle hut made out of old corrugated sheet metal poorly welded to metal posts. One wall and the floor is missing from what would otherwise be a cube. Although if you sat up, you'd be facing the outside, your scan can't reach far enough to tell you anything about it.

The two men, their physique placing them in their mid-teens, are pouring over a well-worn laptop, which is connected to the other end of the cable in your chest. Both you and the laptop are being powered by a large power bank sitting in the back right corner.

"Strange...." The raspy voice is quickly followed by another rapid flurry of typing.

[Multiuniverse]

I will pull out the cable connecting me to the computer and sit up

"Thievery is not an ethical practice"

As you sit up, you open your eyelids and unplug the cable from your chest. The two teenagers huddled over the laptop are covered in dirt and grease stains, their thin bodies showing signs of malnourishment.

Outside is a scrapyard filled with piles of misshapen metal and abandoned electronics. It is dark, probably sometime around 3am.

At the sound of your synthesized audio, one spouts undisclosed profanity in surprise and bolts out of the structure as fast as his legs will carry him, while the other scrambles to unplug the laptop.

I will move over to block the door

"What is your name?"

His eyes widen in fear as you block his exit, and he takes a few steps back, clutching the laptop to his chest.

"It's B-Ben..." he says softly, his voice still akin to two pieces of sandpaper being rubbed together.
