Flavor with games is always subjective. It's a mistake I made with 13B and Stranger Things FM. Some people enjoy, but not everyone does.
Usually for games with flavor, it's best to put the flavor text in a spoiler or in a different post away from the information that's actually important to the game.
The most common trend I see with games submitted (primarily SFMs and the old TFMs) is that people have a hard time striking a good mix of creativity and balance. Either games are so plain that they could be ran as a Standard/VFM, or they're so complex that it feels like one of those pick your own adventures Goosebumps books. It's fine to make a SFM that's not 100% balanced, but isn't completed busted or a Forum game in the wrong sub-forum.
