What to do with Arsonist in FM?

RNG is never good for any strategy based game. Please learn the definition of what that means, especially if you're one of the people constantly defending it.

This thread is pretty old, but it brings up some talking points.

Obviously any third party, or any role for that matter, runs the risk of adding some degree of swing. It's a pick your poison situation. SK adds pressure on town since their numbers can be whittled down too fast. Arsonist adds pressure on mafia since town's numbers aren't getting whittled down fast enough, and an arsonist that never ignites doesn't help them much. But it also doesn't resolve flips immediately, which is why I'm generally biased towards arsonist.

To be honest, I think one of the biggest reasons why people don't like arsonist is because they're bad at it. Biggest reason why it hasn't won for a while is because it's rare.

I can pull up the numbers if needed but NK winrate on this site in standards is higher than what a lot of people think. I haven't run them for some months though.

Allow Arsonist to burn roles (like Janny) of the players it kills

The only NK you'll ever need is a SK.

To properly make a NK, it needs to be as effective as a SK but absent of gimmicks or complications to make it simpler and straight forward to use. This is why a majority of NK roles fail, because they either have annoying gimmicks with no effectiveness or are just straight up stronger than SK.
