Hey guys, it's finally time for the first voting session of the Creator's Spotlight!

For this first voting event, we have 17 different roles to choose from!

Since there are more than 15 roles, we will be electing two roles and all voters will now have two votes!

To submit your votes, send "Schultz128" a PM with the subject "CSV" that contains your votes for your roles. The roles with the most votes will be added to the Experimental Rolelist in Standards!

Voting will last until the end of Episode XV. When Episode XV ends, users will be given 3 additional days to place their votes!

In the mean time, feel free to discuss in the thread!

Rules for Voting:

  1. Self Voting - Users may not vote for their own roles.
  2. Voting Limit and Integrity - Users cannot vote more than what they're assigned. This means you are not allowed to vote on a role with alternate accounts. If a user is discovered to have been using alts to vote for roles, hence exceeding their vote limit, they will be barred from participating in the Creator's Spotlight permanently.
  3. Beggars - We prefer if you do not constantly beg for votes. You're allowed to try and convince people to vote for your role, but don't be obnoxious about it.

Yeeeeeeee

Botanist: We need more variety in protective roles, especially given that one of the current ones isn't really interesting. That said, I think this is an excellent concept for a protective role. It isn't too similar to anything we have now, but also isn't straying from the purpose of being a protective. I would say it's a bit overtuned currently, given that it can permanently protect players. But this is something that can easily be tested, and easily balanced if that's the case. Well made.
Mystic: The way this role is designed makes it feel like the only use it has is to confirm any given PR claim, and punish scum who don't specifically claim to meet what it shows. This unfortunately also has the problem that scum could very easily just claim cit, or claim a PR that matches their role, and just give some real targets. I just can't see any point in time where this would be even remotely as useful as a sheriff.
Correspondent: Gets a default "No" because of the ability to basically be confirmed town just by claiming. I think the utility it has is decent for Town Support, almost on par with Escort. Unfortunately, the only way I could support it is by letting mafia have the ability to roll something equivalent to prevent it from becoming lock town, but it not being confirmed town also will stop its utility from being any good either.
Matchmaker: There are 3 possibilities. 1: You hit 2 town. Congrats, now scum gets a free extra kill. 2: You hit 1 town and 1 scum. Congrats, now a scummer takes a townie down with him if you lynch him. 3: You hit 2 mafia. This one is actually useful because you end up killing them both off if you finally decide to lynch the pair. Quite frankly, it hurts town more than it helps. Not worth.
Registrar: No thanks on an investigative designed purely to try to win on scum screwing up a mass claim. It's just not interesting, and is brainless to use. Info dumps are just a bad design overall for TIs.

Traitor: Traitors are the new NEs. I don't particularly see the need for it to pick up info on the rest of the mafia, but I will always support traitors.
Smuggler: Purely exists as a counter to 3 roles that may or may not even be in the game. That is not a play. And of course, I have the same opinion on Disguiser and Framer.
Matchmaker: It gives a 100% chance of town being able to kill both a town member and a scum member by lynching either of the two. It's not like they even need to figure out which is which. And if there's a neutral killing around, we all know how this is going to end.

Ignoring neutrals because there's no point in them.

/vote Traitor, Botanist
You were expecting a decent signature...

Botanist - This is a 10/10 role and should be added to every game until the end of time
Mystic - The concept seems interesting, but it feels like it would end up like the Investigator, needing extra thought to balance the game purely because of 1 role, it's a solid idea but seems, like the investigator, to be fundamentally flawed
Correspondent - This doesn't seen very useful at all, it reminds me of the Journalist from SFM7, but less useful, the fact that you can only ask 1 yes or no question would already make it the weakest PR in the game, it may be able to be buffed by getting more questions or longer answers, but at the moment it's practically worthless
Matchmaker - Even though the ability is only one-shot, I don't feel like lover mechanics in any capacity are viable in standard games
Registrar - Now this is more like it, numbers may need tweaking but this seems like it would be a good asset for the Town, without reaching broken-ness, I definitely like this one

Traitor - This is just straight up good, nothing else really needs saying
Smuggler - Seems a little too situational, ending up a dud role in a lot of cases
Heartbreaker - See Matchmaker

Enchanter - This seems like it would work better as a Mafia Deception role, and I can't see it being useful as a Neutral
Sellsword - Oh boy a NB Vigi that just needs to kill X people and then it wins, we totally haven't seen this eighteen billion times already!
Turncoat - This is just nice
Gossiper - Mostly a dud role and even when it succeeds it's likely not going to help anyone
Convict - It's alright but there's not really much special about it
Spiritualist - Seems like a Phantom that stays alive, I don't see the point
Reflector - Absolutely useless NE, only effects Investigators, and when it does it helps them, which is the opposite of what it wants
Dabbler - Doesn't seem bad, but not very useful
Vampire - When you get past the wording and the strange terminology, this isn't half bad, it basically perma-roleblocks people, although if I were to make 1 criticism is would be that TK roles shouldn't be affected, also the shield should protect against stalkers because some people still use them I think, but yeah it's a decent role
Scavenger - Seems too situational

I'm probably gonna vote for two of [Registrar, Traitor, Turncoat] as they're the best roles from their respective alignments

I thought voting was in May oops. Guess I'll submit something else then.

Reserving.

Botanist: No support. Reasoning given here. Or look a post above to see Cow's reason. I'd rather test out Potion Maker more than introduce another TP. Also flavor name is bad.
Mystic: I don't see any cost to picking witch regardless of what results are, unless there is no witch. It's also far easier to confirm than any TI role, outside of spy.
Correspondent: Works better in a closed theme. Town communication roles are good in theory but end up becoming innocent children.
Matchmaker: Lover slaughter.
Registrar: Get mafia head N1. Solve RTs N2 and N3. ez.

Smuggler: Veteran doesn't need a counter. This turns veteran into a strong role or one that dies once they actually do something.
Heartbreaker: SK stabs the mafia member's lover gg.

Enchanter: Change role color. Change flavor away from 'generic evil magic user'. Inform players that they were enchanted and that their night action will be processed the next night. I think this can work.
Sellsword: tl;dr
Turncoat: Eh. Becoming a witch can be too swingy. Maybe in a town vs. mafia although you can end up with a Judas/Saulus effect.
Gossiper: I think the ideal neutral evil should have abilities that advance their own win condition, and not something that helps a faction they can win with advance theirs. Warlock has immunity, witch can manipulate town's actions to make them lose, this does nothing but crapshoot looking for scum without getting the information itself.
Convict: prankster
Spirtualist: Interactions with bomber unclear. Lets serial killer kill postdeath. It also defeats the purpose of a lynch- to remove something scum has entirely from the game.
Reflector: You can't alert until all TIs are dead because the lookout just confirmed all of the citizens as town.
Dabbler: Vigilante? Kinda feel as if kleptomaniac already fills this niche.
Vampire: formatting makes it unplayable
Scavenger: I'm hesitant to approve a strongman, especially an uninformed one.

Also you're supposed to voting through PMs.
