Game Moderator Message: Some of you may have noticed the CFM section is now called "Game ideas and Announcements."
Apologies for the abrupt change, and no announcement. We did not know it would be changed that quickly.

We are making some changes to the FM section, and that will all be announced in the future.
I cannot tell you when exactly in the future, I can only tell you that it will be announced eventually.

Please do not bug the FM Mods about the changes. We won't be telling anyone until it is announced.

For now, keep posting your pitches in there. I can tell you that they will remain.

ObiWan greatly exaggerated this annoucement.

The FM Mods and Turdpile decided it would simply be best if we removed CFM altogether. This is why we have changed the names to the sections that had CFM in them.

Annoucement Numero Deux:

The entire way we run things is being changed. Instead of FM mods hosting whichever games instead we will have 5 distinct classification of games and a set amount of each; Standard (2), Tiny Forum Mafia (1), Special Forum Mafia (1), Vanilla Forum Mafia (1), Newbie Forum Mafia (*).

*however many their is demand for.

So with this new game classification system comes queues for each one, not queues for players but hosts for the games inside.

To join a queue, you must have played at least 1 game, have been on the site for 3 months or more after playing your first game, not having been given a warning in the last 3 months, not having been forced replaced for inactivity in the last 3 months and it must be 3 months after your blacklist ended if you were. You may sign up onto the queue if this is all true and you provide your setup + other information at the time of signing up. Your setup is reviewed for balance as well by a balance team before going on the list.

Each FM Mod will be running a different queue, with two on the Standard and no specific mod on NFM. All questions regarding that queue should be sent to them, they are in charge of overseeing the games under them and helping if asked.

Within the queues there are slots that are automatically go to which FM moderator wishes to host in them, right now these are seperated by 3 other slots open to everyone. This number may change and the slot may be passed up if we believe quality or diversity is not an issue or we personally do not wish to host.

In general we aren't as big of just game hosts anymore, we are sectional and list moderators, an even split on all 3.


Note: This is a trial phase we are seeing if this works and are prepared to make changes or in the case of massive failure revert.

Now this change will be taking place sometime after the next CFM starts, which will be our last CFM on this site pressumably. We will be making a Q/A thread for the inevitable questions that will arise after I post this.

Rule Number One is being expanded upon in the Game Rules. It will be changed from this:

1. All Town of Salem Forums general rules apply.

To this:

1. All Town of Salem Forums general rules apply. Bans due to breaking forum rules will also result in being permanetly blacklisted from FM games. However, appeals can be made if the person wishes to play after their ban period has ended. The Moderators will decide if that player may rejoin FM games post ban following the appeal.

This new change will take effect immediately.

Note, the rules and procedures around inactivity has been changed:

When a player is forcibly removed from a game, they cannot join another game for 2 weeks, then if it happens again 3, then 4, then we have to talk with them and potentially issue a formal blacklist.

If you complete a game without being prodded once, and you lived to see D2 then you go down a notch.

If you have been forced replaced in the last 3 months then you cannot join the episode.

I'll keep this as short and sweet as I can.

With situations at home and me getting a new job soon, I believe it's time for me to retire from fm.
It's not worth me having the added responsibility anymore. I've also become burnt out on the game itself. It's just not as enjoyable for me anymore.

There are other reasons I wish to leave, but I'll just leave this video instead for memes.

I might come back to play a game or two after a few months or seasons or whatever if the forum isn't burned down by then. No guarantees. I'll certainly miss a few faces here But of course this forum has also reassured me that I never want to be a parent.and it would be great to see how the overhaul influences the forum over time (unrelated to my leaving).

I'm planning on 10D being my last game, but that may change. We'll see.

Game Moderator Message: Hey guys, I have a little announcement to make.
Its about time someone new became the "master" so to speak, for the FM forums section.
I've watched Metrion grow into an awesome moderator, and a great host. He has a great imagination, and he has a connection with this community that I just don't have. That's not to say that I don't get along with you guys, because I definitely do. But, I believe Metrion can bring something else to this Forum that'll change it for the better.
So, I will be passing the lead mod torch onto him effective immediately. (Or whenever Turd gets around to changing it up)

Don't get too excited, I will still be here as a FM Mod, I just won't be lead anymore.
This was not a spir of the moment thing, and no one forced me to make it.
I had made this decision in January, and have been talking with Met about it for a while.
Lead has just taken it's toll on me, and I think it's best that it go to him now. I have full trust in him (Oh God, did I say that?).

I'll still be here to keep my eyes on all of you O_O, and you're always welcome to talk to me about anything as well.

The results are in for the new FM Moderator.

When I set the deadline for our choice, we had a really tough time selecting, possibly the hardest yet. Ultimately we decided to not hire a new moderator. Most of us feel that 5 is not a suitable number of moderators.

To those who applied we thank you, and hope you all continue to make FM great.

With that being said we feel that instead with the new queue system 6 is a much better number of moderators to have.

I have asked Metrion to remove me from the FM Game Moderators group. I don't feel it's appropriate to still have me in the group but not be running active games.

For those of you interested in FMBot - FMBot will be a project for me at some point later this year - I have other priorities like now like moving into college. That being said, I have offered FMBot's vote counts to any moderator who wants them.

A Moderator may remove you from the NFM queue if they feel that you are not a good fit for NFM as a non-newbie.
Should you not see your name on the queue any longer, you may PM the moderator and ask why you were removed.

2 sign ups in one.

Either sign up to create a role, or sign up to join the game.
When the sign ups are full, you'll send me your names like normal.
After I've received all names, I'll randomly send them out to the creators.
You may not choose who creates your roles, sorreh.
Creators will not know whose name they got, so they cannot make a biased role for someone specific.
I will ask that no players share their role names on discord, or with any of the creators.
Creators may not discuss what they created with the players.
I'd have to approve all roles, of course. They cannot be too OP.
But, I will accept slightly unfair roles.

Will probably be a messy messy game.

Possibly soon (Tonight or tomorrow) ... if Met isn't a nerd.

If not, maybe after the change sometime.
