Outsider - Neutral Benign

Outsider

You are an Outsider.

Your alignment is Neutral Benign.

You're a hunter who has travelled into Salem with your dog to restock on supplies, as you always have from time to time. On your way out you were stopped, trials had begun and a suspicious character like you wasn't going to be let off the hook so easily. Many unfamiliar citizens wondered to themselves if there was a reason you lived alone in the wilderness, only time would tell.

Each night you may select a player, roleblocking them.
You appear as a member of the Mafia to the Sheriff.

Your alignment may change once:

  • If the Town's numbers are equal to or below majority by one your win condition will change to match their's.
  • If the Mafia only has a single player, your win condition will be changed to match their's and you will join their chat.
  • If visited by a Neutral Killing your win condition will instead be changed to match their's. Should they die, you die.
You win with the Town
You win with the Mafia
You win with Survivors
You win with Witches
You win with Arsonists
You win with Serial Killers
You lose with Bombers
You may spare anyone else.


Your win con can only change once.

This is pretty nice. It can use the roleblock to influence it's win condition.

However, I feel like the roleblock makes it too confirmable and not really a good enough last resort scumclaim, although most players tend not to claim NB anyways so whatever.
If you have a problem with me or anything I do, tell me about it instead of ring passive aggressive. I consider most people here my friends and I'd rather not live in darkness, but try to resolve the situation. I can't hear what you don't say.

To clarify on that bit with the NK, you mean their win con switches instead of the NK action taking place, correct?

Night immune to NK's it looks. But that's actually kind of funny to think about a NK Escort.
I don't know about another Escort like role though. Like maybe 1 or both of the SFM7 Harpy abilities (maybe without notifications), or a MS Rolestopper. I dunno, just doesn't really feel right to have a second scum escort, makes escort claims a lot weaker.

Oh and I think changing the name to Outsider and giving it flavor from The Stranger would also be kind of cool. (Mostly since there is 2 possible translations Stranger or Outsider, but translators chose Stranger.)

Yes, so any NK stabbing/dousing/mauling/etc them instead recruits.

I'm still really undecided about the roleblock myself, but it's interesting in that it's an ability that helps any side and also can be used to roleblock a SK to switch alignments. On top it can be a really clutch role in general for either side to have which is generally when it'll be converting.

Consort could probably claim this is lylo to explain earlier scummy blocks, but I would like it to be more claimable in general so it's very possible another night action fits this better, it just needs to fill out the same criteria.

Rolestopper is much more confirmable. Luring and blocking might work, but it feels really strong on town maybe some sort of modification based on those actions to make it digestable for each faction? I'm not sure, I'll tinker around with some stuff.

Yeah I was thinking a silent siren could work, but the problem is that Siren roles are very suicidal. It would be great to mess with Sheriff or Framer, but Vigilante and Mafia being redirected to you is terrible.
I don't know about fully immunity though. That's really powerful of an ability, they are already immune to NK's, but I think they at least should be able to be killed by Vigilante or Mafia if they wanted.
