Question: What happens if 2 people want to preform the factional kill and noone steps down? What if one is the Mafia Head?
Imagine a FM game that
  • was a bastard SFM but it got ran on the standard queue because the host lied to the balance team
  • 1/3 of the people (including the host) roleplaying while the other 2/3 replaced out
  • had more than 20 mod-errors, including the host flipping the wrong role during death and allowing oog communication
  • extreme amount of angleshoots from the players based on those things
  • had so much flavor the mod-team had to get involved

If a player is intentionally trying to make their team lose by messing with the factional kill, then that's game throwing.

If 2 players cannot decide then it's up to the host's discretion how to resolve that. Usually it being whatever the majority of the mafia decide.

Whomever has been doing the kill previously, whomever choose first, etc. Like I said it's the hosts job to explain to their players how they'll resolve an issue like this, and it's an issue that isn't common.

Strategical balance - understanding that whisper games are bad because there's no reason to use any other strategy

Structural balance - understanding that disabling the Mayor's whispers, despite it fixing whisper games, means that a player can't use a core mechanic of the game and is still bad

This matters - educate yourself.

You know your ways around the street ever since you were young, and how to make a living off those dumb enough not to catch you. The first time you were caught was by the Godfather, and well, that opened up a whole bunch of new oppertunities for you.

Each night you may visit a player, repeating all actions that happened to them last night again.
If you repeat an investigative action, instead you will get the results.

Your allies are [x] the [role], [x] the [role], and [x] the [role].


Problem: Who does the Hustler repeat the actions on? Repeating them on them on the target seems pointless (i. e. healing someone only if they're getting healed anyways), but there's no mention of a second target.

Roleblock them again
Attack them again if they used a vest or whatever
Prank them again
Get info about them you may not otherwise have
Control them into fucking up their action, again
etc etc
And you may say to yourself, "My God! What have I done?"

The player they target.

So if Leyva was healed N1, and Schultz the Hustler targeted him N2, leyva would be healed N2.

If Gent the Investigator visits Leyva N1, and Schultz the Hustler targets him N2, then Schultz will receive the investigative result Gent received N1.

I've usually seen it most used in conjunction with roleblocks.

If someone performs an night action with obvious gamethrowing intentions (such as shooting a confirmed Townie as Vigilante), would the mod make the action go through?

Gamethrowing is always dealt with after the person in question is dead or the game is over. There is no distinct line where we can start to act that doesn't cross into the realm of possible abuse/meta from players.

Suggestion: Run 2 SFM games at the same time

I think for lots of players here that themed games like SFM/TFM are the most fun game types to play, it's that way for me at least. But while the shorter TFM does fine meeting the player demands, SFMs that go on for like at least a month on average certainly has a higher demand than supply. Also some games have been on the SFM queue for over a year now.
Before we had an SFM and CFM run at the same time, but after they pretty much merged into the SFM queue now, only 1 is run at a time. Is there any reason for that?

I don’t think it’s possible tbh

While we have gotten new players our player base is stagnating and we’re overall getting a net gain of 0

It’s a good idea but I’m not sure whether the player base has the bulk to do it, plus you need to consider hosting and shit

Right now games are in a weird lull due to a) hosting shenanigans and b) games all ending at the same time. The next wave will be going up next week with Rhawkeye's TFM, Ice's standard, and Swords's SFM.

Running two SFM games at a time might experience hiccups considering how stretched the playerbase can be to currently fill and remain active in games. The creators of those games put in much love and effort into game creation--running one at a time gives them a lil bit of the love they deserve.

Only one CFM/SFM is run at a time right now partially due to playerbase, partially because we don't have moderators with a devoted queue, i.e. the old SFM.
