Forum Mafia Role Randomizer

Postby Megalomancer » Sat Sep 26, 2015 9:05 pm

For anyone who may need it, I constructed a role randomizer. It comes in 3 different varieties, based on the counts of Citizen that a Random Town slot has, in increments of 1, 3 and 5. It can be found at: http://tosfmrandomizer.weebly.com/

I cannot click the submit button, either. Once you get that fixed, let us know. This looks like a cool idea in general.
This was not the scumslip you were looking for.

You have to make sure you have the same number of players and roles. If you do the submit button works.

Still does not work.

I tried it with 3 names and 3 roles, nothing still. Everything is spelled right.

It might be not working on a person-by-person basis since I'm using it right now and it's working beautifully, expect for the reroll button (although refreshing the page accomplishes that). It works now.

I figured out your problem. Even if though it looks like names=roles, if you press enter after inserting the names, and get a blank line, the submit button will not do anything. The same does not apply for the roles.

It wasn't that, I worked out the problem though, it doesn't work unless I put my browser full screen, so the actual display is too big for some computer monitors.

Next time I'm on my computer, I'll see what I can do.

Also, I can tailor the program to whatever the rolelist demands in a few minutes, I'll add an Episode generator after the bugs are removed, I'll also take requests.

Still not letting me hit submit in full screen mode, but I can click on the roles below with full screen mode, where I cannot in regular.

What do you mean by this matthew?

I never have pressed enter after putting in the names.

I've just been putting in the names, then the roles. Then trying to click submit. Nothing happens.

Maybe it's my browser? Does it not work with Google Chrome?

That was it. I changed my browser from Chrome to Firefox and it worked.
Not sure if it is because of a setting on my Google Chrome or what...but it would not work for me on Chrome. It works for me perfectly on Firefox.

It's working for me with Explorer so I'm assuming that you Chrome users probably can use it as well. :^)
What he means by the blank space is that you have this:

Gotcha. I don't believe I ever pressed another Enter. But I can re-try it tomorrow. The submit button was never bolded like it was when I used Firefox either. I noticed a big difference but that might be the browser in general.
I'll test the enter thing tomorrow

Tested on Firefox: Definitely needs to clear up empty lines, that seems to be the major issue. Sometimes it will count empty lines as roles or players. Allowing some roles to be blacklisted would be a neat application as well, as well as changing the cit count. I like the idea though.

That is getting worked on right now. I'm thinking it has something to do with Weebly. The raw html file had none of these issues.

I was going to add a "Random Town (No Power)" button, because currently the TPower roles aren't mutually exclusive, but they will only roll one of each. I also will be working on adding some sort of customizable interface with no programming skills needed that will change what goes in each alignment.

as well as changing the cit count. I like the idea though.

Cit count is already configured to 1,3 and 5. The interface would also allow for easy Cit count changes.
