They're not slurs for the same reason 'Karen' isn't a slur.
You can't change being a certain skin colour
You can't change being a certain sexuality
But you can change the way you act towards people from those groups, therefore if you're being a dick because of those reasons, you deserve the label.
You could argue you're being mislabeled in certain cases, but that's not the point. The labels should exist.
As with the word 'Lynch', not being American may effect my view here as its not really a word with racist connotations for me, but its usually extremely simple to see the context of a word being racist or not. If there's no racist intent, then there shouldn't be a problem.
