Town of Salem Game Forums

• This is not an official episode. I also don't know why you have to be told this.
• We're all friends here. Don't say anything you wouldn't say to your mother.
• You signed up for the game, so play the game. If you vanish for 24 hours, that's a paddlin'. If you don't show up 12 hours after that, or get paddled again, that's a boot. If the day lasts 48 hours or longer and you don't have at least 15 posts, that's also a boot. Shitposts don't count.
• Don't throw the game. Even if your scum buddy gladiates you in their first post, don't get salty and out them. That's how they get away with having the moral high ground.
• Don't talk to people in secret languages only the two of you know. That's rubbish, and you know it.
• Don't quote, or pretend to quote mod messages. Don't even talk about talking with the mod. Don't even talk about rules disallowing talking about talking with the mod.
• Don't talk to other people about the game. Unless they fake claim sheriff with red on you, in which case feel free to pretend you're scum in PMs with them.
• Fun is allowed this time. Try not to OD.

• Role Design:
  
  • As you sign up, send me what you want your role name to be (You should question your life choices if you send me anything I have to deny here)
  • A town role will be made based on the role name sent
  • After all town roles are made, alignments will be randomized
  • The players that roll scum will have new roles made for them, but will be sent their original town role card in addition to their scum one
• Death:
  
  • Full rolecards flip on death
  • Cause of death will not be shown (With the exception of lynches)
• Phases:
  
  • Day is 72 hours
  • Night is 24 hours
• Lynches:
  
  • There will be a D1 lynch
  • Plurality is in play, and majority will end day early
• Mafia:
  
  • Day chat enabled by default
  • There will be a factional kill each night, which a member can carry out in addition to any other actions they may have

• So what happens if the role name I pick is "3 shot guiltless vig"?

• Would I be modkilled for saying "{X}"?
  
  If you have to ask, the answer is probably yes. If you ever use an argument like "My rolecard says" or "Var said", it will probably get you modkilled. There are a million proper ways you can say these things without basically saying "lul it was in a PM the host sent me"

  Don't be a shitter that lost the game for town last time by assuming I lie to players in random and arbitrary ways. I even specifically said last game that the only reason I lied to someone on their rolecard in the original UPick was because of Obi, but you shitters let outed scum go for free by just assuming I lied to them, instead of going to the conclusion that the player lied to you. I'm not saying I won't lie on any rolecards, but I'm saying that I'm not going to do it for literally no reason.

  Either you didn't send in a role name, or you're a player I've put on a low prio queue. Keep in mind, the only reason you would be on my low prio queue is if you either intentionally gamethrew, or were force replaced for inactivity in my last UPick.

  If players treat something like it's a possible mechanic, I probably will just play along for fun. It will never actually do anything if it's not a real mechanic though.
