1) Inactivity: If you haven't posted in the thread within 24 hours, I'll prod you for inactivity. If you don't respond to the prod within 12 hours of it being sent, you'll be replaced. Posts must be productive to the game as determined by myself and anything else will be seen as prod dodging and will not reset the prod timer. I'll be enforcing this rule a bit more.
2) Be Respectful:I won't tolerate any disrespectful behavior. Any type of behavior like this will be punished by being warned and possibly force replaced. Remember that this is a game and if you feel that you're too on edge, take a break from it. Myself or an FM Moderator will step in and ask people to calm down if it starts getting too heated.
3) Gamethrowing: Any attempt to intentionally make your faction lose the game will result in being blacklisted from future games. All your actions must be done with the goal of winning as your faction and have a clear, logical explanation for your actions. This can include Jesting. If you have any questions about actions you are going to carry out or anything regarding your role then PM ZSSDistortion with your questions.
4) Spam: Please please please try not to post multiple times in a row if it can be avoided. It detracts from the game and makes it harder for people to catch up. Use quotes and spoilers to make one large post instead of many small ones as well as using the preview function to look at your post before posting it. At the very least combine a decent amount of the one-liners into a single post. You know who you are.
5) No Outside Communication: Do not use outside methods of communication to disclose your role or any other similar information about this game to another player. Only the Mafia and potential other roles are able to discuss the game outside the game thread with my permission. Dead players may only speak to dead players. Breaking this rule will result in being forced to play the actual Hotel Mario game for life. Potential blacklists work too.
6) Last Wills, Deathnotes, and Night Actions: Last Wills and Deathnotes are not in play this game. Be sure to label all PMs to ZSSDistortion accordingly or you risk the chance that I'll miss the PM and not process whatever you wanted done. The proper way to label them is:

7) Codes: No codes or encryptions of any form are allowed, apart from signals. PM me if you are unsure if something would be considered a code.
8) Mod Messages: Do not quote any mod messages you are sent privately or discuss communications with the moderator. This includes quoting role-cards. Paraphrasing is permitted.
9) Flavor: Flavor posted in the game thread and not in PM responses should not be used to infer anything or support arguments as it is as the title implies, flavor text. Also its Hotel Mario, like cmon now.
10) Fun: The most important rule is to have fun because this is a game and shouldn't be treated as anything aside from that.
Mechanics:
72/24 phases. Plurality/majority lynch. D1 lynch. Mafia have daychat. Rolecards flip upon death.
Hotels:
Each day, players may vote to select one of 7 hotels to bestow an effect upon the game when night begins. What the effects are aren't revealed to the whole game.
A list of these hotels can be found further down in the OP.
Hotels may only be chosen once per game, and some may even enable abilities.
If a hotel reaches majority during the day, it will not be locked in until the day ends so votes may be switched to other hotels throughout the day.
If a hotel has been chosen, it is still eligible to appear as a destination for a door at night. Speaking of which...
Doors:
In addition to hotels, a set of 3 doors will become available at night. These will allow players to access other hotels and will apply certain effects to people going through the doors.
The list of doors available to travel through at night will be displayed in the day end post. 3 doors are available each night and doors will have hotel names next to them.
However, players may also choose to open or close a door at night as well as entering a door. If a door is closed you can't use it unless it is opened.
At least 2 players need to choose the same option for a door at night to change its status. However if more than 2 players want to open or close a door then majority wins.
If the amount of people wanting to change a doors status is equal, then the door status will not change.
Doors are randomly generated each night, and 2 doors are guaranteed to be different to the previous nights set.
Example: Day ends. In the day end post as well as usual stuff like lynches + other info I'll provide a list of doors which can be chosen at night. The list would look something like this:
Wood-Door Hysteria Hotel - Open Door
High-ate Regency Hotel - Closed Door
Blitz Snarlton Hotel - Open Door
Basically, it boils down to this: Vote a hotel to be selected at daytime and if you wish choose a door to enter at nighttime + an open/closed status for a door.
