Citizen

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Citizen.

Abilities:
Each day you get to vote in an attempt to remove the Mafia from the community.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Mafia have been eliminated, and at least one Town member remains alive.

Bulletproof

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Bulletproof.

Abilities:
The first time you would be killed instead you survive thanks to your bulletproof vest.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Mafia have been eliminated, and at least one Town member remains alive.

Sheriff

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Sheriff.

Abilities:
Every night you have the ability to investigate one town member to see if they're up to anything suspicious.
If your target is a member of the Mafia, you will know.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Mafia have been eliminated, and at least one Town member remains alive.

Doctor

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Doctor.

Abilities:
You have the ability to visit one person each night. If they are attacked that night, you arrive just in time to save their life.
You may not visit the same player twice in a row.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Mafia have been eliminated, and at least one Town member remains alive.

Vigilante

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Vigilante.

Abilities:
Once, at night, you may decide to shoot and kill one town member you believe to be evil.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Mafia have been eliminated, and at least one Town member remains alive.

Goon

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Goon.
Your allies are [x] the Consigliere, [x] the Consort, and [x] the Strongman.

Abilities:
You have no special abilties, you may do the factional kill each night and vote during the day.
You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Town have been eliminated, and at least one Mafia member remains alive, or when nothing can stop this from occurring.

Consigliere

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Consigliere.
Your allies are [x] the Consort, [x] the Strongman, and [x] the Goon.

Abilities:
Every night you can choose to target one player.
You'll investigate them that night, finding out their exact role.
You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Town have been eliminated, and at least one Mafia member remains alive, or when nothing can stop this from occurring.

Consort

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Consort.
Your allies are [x] the Consigliere, [x] the Strongman, and [x] the Goon.

Abilities:
Every night you can choose to target one player.
You'll distract them that night, roleblocking them.
You are immune to being roleblocked.
You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Town have been eliminated, and at least one Mafia member remains alive, or when nothing can stop this from occurring.

Strongman

Welcome, [player name], to VFM23: Black Friday. You are a Strongman.
Your allies are [x] the Consigliere, [x] the Consort, and [x] the Goon.

Abilities:
Once, when performing the factional kill, you may ignore all protection and roleblocks.
You may not use this ability on a player who has been investigated by the consigliere.
You can communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.

Win Condition:
You win when all members of the Town have been eliminated, and at least one Mafia member remains alive, or when nothing can stop this from occurring.

Phase Lengths: Days are 72 hours long. Nights are 24 hours long.
Lynches: Lynches may be by plurality or majority. There is a Day 1 Lynch.
Day Chat: Mafia have day chat.
Feedback: The only roles that receive feedback are investigative roles.
Kill Flavour: Kill flavour is disabled. Mafia and vigilante kills will be indistinguishable.

• Bulletproof protection works against the first killing action only. If the Bulletproof is targeted by two killing actions in the same night, they will be killed.
• Bulletproof protection is not effective against the Strongman’s shot.
• Bulletproof protection is passive, and cannot be disabled by a role block.
• Bulletproof protection takes priority over the Doctor's heal (ie if the Bulletproof is attacked and healed, they will still lose their protection.)
• The Bulletproof will not be informed if/when their protection has been used.
• The Strongman’s shot is not enabled by default.
• The Strongman may not use their shot on a player that was investigated by the consigliere.
• Shots remaining will not flip on death for the Vigilante or the Strongman.
• The Vigilante may only receive information about the status of their shot (ie whether they still have the shot or not) during the night phase.

• Town: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found nothing suspicious.
• Mafia: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found a discrepancy - your target is a member of the mafia!

• Sheriff: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found that they recently purchased a sheriff's badge. They must be a sheriff!
• Doctor: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found that they recently purchcased a first aid kit. They must be a doctor!
• Vigilante: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found that they recently purchased a gun. They must be a vigilante!
• Bulletproof: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found that they recently puchased a protective vest. They must be a bulletproof!
• Citizen: You checked your target's credit card statements, and found no unusual purchases. They must be a citizen!
