Hypoclaiming might be a subtle way to hide out information you found, in cases that you are a Town Investigative. It might prove its usefulness due to the fact that there are no wills in this game. Affirmative pseudo-claims may drive people to false information, and there should be multiple limitations on how one should hypoclaim without placing someone they're unsure of being evil in such jeopardy.

On the other hand, I feel neutral towards claiming to be doused, due to the common knowledge that the Arsonist usually blends into the group of people who have claimed to have been doused sometime before. Chances are, people will believe the plausible statements provided by the assumed victims of the Arsonist's phlogiston, giving the Arsonist some time to snatch away a win.

I think hypo claiming is necessary and I think we should be announcing what happened to us each night, whether we slept peacefully, if we were doused, role blocked, healed or guarded. I, personally will claim doused if I am, but I won't hold grudges against anyone who doesn't.

Actually the reason behind not claiming doused is so that the mafia might kill a doused person. This would result in one less scum death which would give us that one extra vote we might require to win. I would suggest that we say all that happened to us EXCEPT the douses unless we know that there is a roleblocker in our role list.

Without such a brilliant explanation, it might be best to avoid defending someone else, since we may assume that you two are working in tandem, thus making you two suspicious. Let's not get cantankerous immediately.

Additionally, we shouldn't really claim doused if we do get doused sometime later, until a presumed Escort has been detected roaming around the night, providing frustration to those who tried to make ends meet during night.

No. Don't say you slept peacefully if you're doused. If is a escort and there's no dousing, they could do their ability on the same person to confirm their suspicion or not

Basically everyone should claim roleblocked if they have been. If they fail to do so after... Let's say the 2nd day(irl) of a day cycle the escort may come forth and tell that they rbd this certain person and then we may ask an explanation from them.

Tardis wanted to get someone up to L-3 to get a softclaim from them, but then we decided nah.

I honestly don't know. For me, I started the vote against Heythere as a dumb day 1 vote, to get a reaction. Getting to L-3 at such an early stage of day one is probably not the best idea. (By the way, I'd like to remind people that HeyThere did not in fact get up to L-3 as they only ever had a maximum of four votes, until James, juvenile and I opted to unvote. No one has more than one vote at this stage.

So, basically, it was pretty much just a rash decision, which was quickly corrected.
Rash decision aside, I don't believe a day one misslynch is particularly harmful; it'll generally happens. The town is, after all, the uninformed majority at this stage. We have to wait for our investigative roles to give us some leads. That aside, I believe we will still be able to recover from the misslynch of, say, a citizen day 1.

Anyway, I'm going a back to sleep. FYI, I'll be inactive for the next 14 or so hours from the time of this post. Just an estimation. When I get up in a few hours I'm off to an all day first aid training.
