As a new player, I'm having a little trouble understanding this. Not saying a day one lynch is necessarily bad, but given the ratio of scum to townies, isn't it more likely that you would hit town than scum, since there's significantly less to discuss than after a night phase? How often are scum generally lynched on the first day versus a townie being lynched? Would appreciate it if more experienced players could clear this up for me.

Also, regardless on if we choose to lynch day 1 or not, it is way too early to be voting now. As others have said, not everyone has posted yet, and we don't really have much to go on yet. We have five days for discussion, and even if we know who we're going to lynch, I think we should make the most of the five days instead of lynching early. It's one thing to express your opinions on who you might want to vote for, and it's quite another to actually vote for them at this stage of the day phase. Ordinarily, I would think that being so quick to vote might indicate scum, but given that the majority of us are very inexperienced, it's going to be a lot harder to identify scum based on "scummy" behavior.

And yes that's what I thought the first time I played. Except I was wrong. Just the fact that you might not want to lynch let's me know that you're either a noob, PR, or scum. Or all of the above.

From what I've seen reading other games, more experienced people even vote for people at this stage, so I wouldn't consider voting someone this early as scummy as long as they have a reason they are doing so. But that's just me.

voting early on is for getting reactions and getting associations

For example:

Player A votes Player B
Player C says "too early to vote" while quoting Player A
Player B is killed by SK and flips Mafia
Player C is then lynched and also flips Mafia

OR

Player A gets voted, and goes "Unvote plz I'm cit"
Invest then checks him because of his overreaction, and finds out he's sk.

Me voting him isn't me trying to get him lynched it is me trying to put pressure on him for acting in a way I find scummy but this doesn't apply if someone is close to being lynched, you do NOT vote them until discussion is done.

No.
The whole point of the mafia is reaching majority. Why would they get rid of the SK? It reduces KPN
The SK has to balance out the amount of town and mafia, and the witch will probably team with mafia for protection, (or get killed lmao)

What information do you get from lynching a citizen? It's not like you get to see who's on his team.

You get the information of who voted for them and who didn't, who was pushing the wagon hard and who just sheeped or joined the wagon with bad reasons, who defended them (if any)... and so on. There's a lot that can be gleaned from a lynch, even a lynch on a townie.

Yes. Usually the mafia end up pushing to lynch the SK a) near the end of the game when they're close to winning or b) when there's a mafia on the line or it's lylo for town, and town know that one less kpn is worth it

Thats cool and brings up a good point. Good scum players will try to act like Town by posting the obvious without actually providing Town with anything of substance AKA (When Varan posts ISOs). I will be posting strategies to help us find scum in a little but like I said I need a bases that Twon agrees with for those strategies. I will prove you wrong Topkek by stating the not so obvious.
