No, this is what happened. Look at the role lists of the last several NFMs. Look at who won. The win rate of the mafia was too high so one mafia member was switched to serial killer to balance the game.

I looked at the role lists of the last several NFMs, and what you're saying is false, at least for the last 7. Town won two games with Serial Killer, one was complete luck (I was in it, and town had 25% of winning with transporter, and only because Mafia outed the whole scumteam for no reason), and the other had Bomber and a larger setup in general, where SK killed mafia night 1, mafioso was lynched day2 and SK died to bodyguard night 2. That's just unlucky.

While James2 is pretty crazy atm, he is right about SK being priority over mafia to reduce kills per night. Every night with SK alive is one less mislynch available.

Hello all.

Standard practice in an NFM game is for everyone to claim their role immediately on day one, before Mafia have a chance to communicate with each other. So please everyone claim your roles ASAP.

This isn't standard practice at all, as even Mel said. You're obviously trying to install yourself as a town leader and shepherd naive newbies who've never read a game before, let alone played one. Trying to manipulate new players like this is a really, really deceptive & unethical tactic tbh and I can't see how it's town motivated.
From what I've seen of your old games, you're the guy who acts really smart but can't follow through and claims 7890 roles per game, and nothing you've said so far in this game leads me to believe you're anything other than scum or a VI.

>the witch, and possible a consort stop roles that would scare killing roles (lookouts, protectives)

Hmm if you knew James you wouldn't have said that he is going to be right, but if he change his methods of playing this game rather then doing whatever he feels like then I could agree but I really doubt it.

• Take away some scum power roles.
• Introduce more factions (this actually hurts the scum, they have higher chances of killing each other)

I'm Taz and this would be my second FM game so hopefully I don't fuck up anything.

I've just read through all the previous posts that I missed last night (I was in bed, sleeping) and I have a few things to say. Sorry if I mess up with anything but I want to say my bit

James2, I have no experience with forum mafia but I have played over 800 games of ToS normally so I know some things that help the town.

Spoiler: 1. Mass Claiming Day 1 - This is never trusted in ToS and based on what everyone else has said, I agree. Mass Voting draws out the important roles like TI, TP, TK and the 2 RT. If a scum does claim something or even a town and someone ccs that claim, there's a chance one if them will be lynched. There are 2 RT so, I suggest, we wait a few days before doing a mass claim otherwise those 5 important town roles will he killed straight away, especially now that there's an SK and it would just be citizen claims.

2. Reading ISOs - my first game was NFM27 and I had no idea what to do, still dont in a way but a few others helped me and said that reading the ISOs was a good way to do a read on others, which I had done. Some people might be replaced out and a newbie might join. Would that be your advice for them? Dont read the ISOs just look at the recent posts and work from there?

3. Mafia aren't as important as the SK, the SK and Witch should be top priority. Now I get that people will argue and say the witch isn't a priority but if the witch can prevent people from doing their roles. What if TP was doctor and they were going to heal player A. SK/Mafia also kills player A. Witch controls Doctor to Player B. Player A dies and what if player As role was something important, like sherriff or investigator? SK can kill mafia and the witch that's true but it can be unlikely with the amount of town we have.

Also I couldn't care less about how smart you think you are. If I wanted, I could brag about how I'm smart and brainy IRL but I don't. You pushing for a mass claim day 1 seems pretty scum like tbh and what did you claim? Citizen? And your pushing foe a mass claim? I suggest not speaking your mind in future. Your ego is a problem. I could try and be an arsehole just like you if I wanted, saying how everyone is beneath me, quote a few things, try and sound smart but I wont and I never will. Tone down your attitude mate and listen to what people say instead of ignoring it and talking about yourself or how to play. A lot of these guys, like me, are new and id rather listen to the mods or other players than to listen to you. Just saying.

FM is nothing like ToS. Get that idea out of your mind immediately.

This is not how it happened in NFM 27, there was massclaim full of citizens, all PRs outed themselves before it.
About James I think that he joined only to die "like a great man" and prove his philosophy, probably he is going to get what he wants.

Anyways this game I will try to make reads more often and be active.

He did that too in CFM17 (I think it was?)
I mean if he is just here to annoy us and distract us he might as well replace out

1. Well there are many reasons for him to lie, but he could just do that because he wants to carry the game with his scumreads when the PRs go out, but this is bad strategy in NFM.
2. He already is yours lynch target, but he is not mine lynch target(100% at least 5 people found this sentance scummy)

For now he might be my lynch target and I'm not saying this for all of us, but as an individual person I think he is always acting strange.

To me he is scum right now but it's important to respect other peoples opinions about him as well.

they all have a debate to get an agreement but, before that happens people must put their own opinions on the table when they've reached an agreement they go do that agreement.

Did you not read my post?

I said if there is a possible lookout and they see someone visit, then they post, aiming to the person they watched, asking what happened to them that night.

If the watched person was witched, only then should they reveal and the lookout can then know who the wotch is. There's a tp as well so as long as they dont reveal, no harm will come to lookout

This is just a hypothetical situation but that's what my post was. Learn to read

He doesn't know if cmitc is either good or bad unless he ISO hunt, which he already said that he won't do because it's a newbie thing to do according to him and it hasn't been night yet so the only way he could have an idea is by what cmitc said (reading from where he left off) so imma check that ISO. And see if I can see what he meant.
