10C (MC) | Matrix Reloaded | Game Over (Mafia/Witch Win)

The Matrix Reloaded (10C)


Game Rules

1) Be respectful. This should be common sense, but it's worth reminding. There will be NO tolerance on racial/homophobic/sexist remarks. If you feel someone is breaking this rule, report them to both hosts.

2) Do not gamethrow. This basically means: ALL your actions must have your specific win condition in mind. Attempting to undermine your/others of the same faction's chance to win (shooting a revealed Mayor as vigilante, joining the town as witch against evildoers, etc.) will get you blacklisted from future games. This can include "Jesting".

3) Inactivity. After 36 hours if a player has not posted I will prod them for inactivity. If they do not reply or post within 18 hours they will be replaced. If I prod them again, they will be replaced. If you're going to be inactive for a long period, please let me know in advance so I can replace you.

4) No outside communication. You may only use the thread to talk to other players, unless otherwise stated.

5) Please do not spam. Avoid cluttering the thread. Some players can't be online all the time, and spam makes it harder for them to catch up. Try to use the forum fuctions at your disposal (Quote, Preview, Spoiler) so your thoughts are organized in a single big post instead of multiple small ones.

6) Whispers: There are no whispers in this game.

7) PM Labeling: Please send all PMs to both Arcthurus and Animate.
Death Note - "Death Note"
Night Action - "Night Action"
(Minus the quotation marks)

8) Flavour Text: Do not make any assumptions based on the description of a lynch or kill, for example. Like the name says, it's just flavour.

9) Titles: Last but not least, this is not an official episode, therefore titles won't be awarded.

Matrix: Spoiler: Image
Special Features:
Column AND row is picked, instead of column OR row. Base is confirmed to be in the game.
Protectives are non-consecutive, and do not give the protected (or themselves) feedback.
Strongman is a role whose kill bypasses protection, but not (neutral) immunity.
Tracker would know the difference between being jailkept and someone not visiting.
No wills.
Vigilante is 2shot no guilt.
BP's immunity is passive, they're told of being attacked much like BG is.

Ex. If Column A and Row 1 was rolled, then the rolelist would include Jailkeeper, Bulletproof, Tracker, Consigliere, Trauma Patient, Bodyguard, Parity Cop, and Godfather, in addition to the base roles.

Spoiler: Mafia members (with exception of Godfather) and framed targets: Your target is a member of the mafia!
Serial Killer: Your target is a Serial Killer!
Every other role: Your target is Not Suspicious!
You checked no one last night. (roleblock)

Special Rolecards

Trauma Patient

You are a Trauma Patient.

Your alignment is Town Support.

An amnesiac recently released from the hospital, almost everything is a blur... the only thing you remember is that you were saved. By a Bodyguard? Feeling indebted to the town you wonder what you were before the accident.

At night you may choose to remember a non-unique, non-killing Town role.
You will assume this role the next night.


Jailkeeper

You are the Jailkeeper.

Your alignment is Town Protective.

You are the Jailor, responsible for locking up criminals, or simply granting someone else a safe haven from those mafia scumbags.
With the town in disarray, you've decided to use your jail room to return order to this place.

Every night you may jail somebody. This only occurs at the end of the night.
A player that is jailed will be protected from all harm, much like if healed by a doctor.
However, that player will also be silently roleblocked.


Tracker

You are the Tracker.

Your alignment is Town Investigative.

You used to be a skilled hunter, always able to follow your prey's traces. Now that the town is under danger, you decide to use your skills to figure out what everyone is up to.

You may follow one person each night.
You will see who that person visits, or if they do at all.


Parity Cop

You are a Parity Cop.

Your alignment is Town Investigative.

You're an inspector, particularly admired for you comparisons between criminals and forming connections among suspects. Always ready for a challenge, you're excited to see what these petty lowlifes bring to the table.

Each night you may question a player.
When you question a player you will be informed if they have a connection to the previously questioned player or not. If they are connected then they are of the same alignment (Town, Mafia, Neutral).
The Godfather hides their tracks too well, and their connections will be Town-Aligned. Framed players' connections will be mafia aligned, assuming they were framed when you checked them.


Bulletproof

You are a Bulletproof.

Your alignment is Town Support.

You used to be part of the police workforce, but your gun is missing. Interrogating was also never your strong point. So, you decide to just stay at home during the night, and hope your vest is enough to last the mafia uprising.

You have no actions.
You do however have a bulletproof vest, which you wear at all times. If somebody tries to attack you, they will receive a message saying that you were immune, and the vest will be lost. You will be told of this.
The vest does not work against douses.


Doctor

You are a Doctor.

Your alignment is Town Protective.

You are this town's doctor, and have kept everybody healthy for years.

You have the ability to visit one person each night. If they are attacked that night, you arrive just in time to save their life.
If your target is attacked, neither you nor your target will receive any notification.
You may not visit the same person two nights in a row.
You also have 1 self-heal, allowing you to instead save yourself if you are attacked.
You can only use the self-heal once, regardless of if you are attacked or not that night, so use it wisely.


Bodyguard

You are a Bodyguard.

Your alignment is Town Protective.

You are a trained bodyguard, capable of throwing yourself into harm's way to save your client.

Each night you can choose one player to protect.
If your target is attacked, both you and the attacker die instead.
If you successfully protect someone, you can't be saved from death.
Your counterattack ignores night immunity.
You may not visit the same person two nights in a row.
You also have 1 bulletproof vest. If somebody tries to attack you when you wear a bulletproof vest, they will receive a message saying that you were immune.
However, you can only use this vest for one night, so choose wisely.




Marshal

You are a Marshal.

Your alignment is Town Protective.

Once a figurehead of the law, you experienced a horrific accident and have vowed not to kill anymore. Instead you decide to use your presence as a deterrent to these thugs that have rooted themselves in your hometown.

Each night you may choose to follow a player. Your presence scares one malicious person from targeting them.
You will not be informed if you scare away any role.
Should your target be visited by multiple people with malicious intent, only one will flee. (Mafia Deception > Witch/Escort/Consort > Killing Roles)
Roles that use charges will still consume them upon being frightened off.
You may not visit the same person two nights in a row.



Vigilante

You are a Vigilante.

Your alignment is Town Killing.

You believe that the law of this town is useless against the evil-doers in your town and have decided to take matters into your own hands.

Each night you may decide to shoot and kill one town member you believe to be evil.
You only have 2 bullets, allowing you to perform your night action up to 2 times. Make them count.
You may not shoot on the first night.


Enforcer

You are an Enforcer.

Your alignment is Mafia Head.

You've arrived at your destination, at last you will take charge of your own team of Mafiosi. Initially recruited for having an exceptional eye for detail. Finesse that some people miss, you are able to duplicate with near perfection soon after. The Godfather very much appreciated your talents, but told you that you still had much to learn. Honing your innate ability and communication skills over the years you've worked hard to prove yourself, today is finally the day you will show that you are worthy of your gift.

As long as you are alive, the Mafia may secretly communicate during the day.
Once each night you may target a member of the Mafia and a person not aligned with the Mafia. Should either be visited by a targetable action, you will unknowningly carry said action on your other target. You will do this for all actions directed at both players. Things such as Arsonist igniting, BG counter-attacking, or Warlock hexing, do not count. If a target is witched to X, you will control your second target to X.
You may not target yourself.
You may communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.


Strongman

You are a Strongman.

Your alignment is Mafia Head.

You're not considered a leader like the Godfather, nor an intelligent planner like the Enforcer, but what you lack in those things are made up by brute force. You can crack anyone's head open with ease, and that alone earns you respect, or fear, from your fellow mafia.

Each night, should you be carrying the factional kill, you may choose to be extra brutal on your target.
Doing so will allow you to pierce any immunity or protection. The only exceptions to this are Neutral Killings, and an immune Warlock.
Because putting extra work on your kill attracts attention, you may only risk to do this twice per game.
You may communicate with your allies each night, for as long as they are alive.


Warlock

You are a Warlock

Your alignment is Neutral Evil.

Mortals, all you wish is to be left alone from their silly conflicts and empty promises. Salem used to be your home and yours alone. While you despise all those who now live here, you have a particular grudge against the townies who first settled here.

Each phase you may hex a player of your choice. If that hexed player dies in the next two phases you will be completely immune the phase during and after their death.
You will learn the identity and role of anyone attempting to attack you.
If you are to be lynched while immune the day will lose 24 hours instead of you being lynched.
You may not hex yourself.

You win with anybody but Town.


Kleptomaniac

You are a Kleptomaniac

Your alignment is Neutral Evil

A petty criminal who just can't help themselves. It's amazing what people take to their graves. So you've decided to relieve them from any possessions they have, it's not like they're using them anymore.

Each night, you can choose a dead player to steal from.
You will be passively informed of how many charges each dead player has at the beginning of each night.
You may use their ability as if you were that role for that night and gain any of their special attributes (IE night/roleblock immunity).
For each dead person you may only steal from them once.
You may not steal from unique roles.
When you steal from a killing role, you will only take their passives. You're not one for killing.
You must be alive at the end of the game in order to win.

You win with anybody but the Town.

You wake up suddenly in the middle of the night. Glancing over at the television you forgot to turn off, you notice the same news broadcast you were watching earlier in the day.

“We are continuing to report the sudden disappearance of nineteen individuals. No connection between the victims has been discovered yet, but all physical traces of them have seemingly been deleted from this world. Memories of them are all that remain.”

You jolt back as the TV screen turns white. A voice comes on through the speakers, but it sounds too monotonous to belong to the overly emotional reporter.

“You have been chosen to enter the second world to play a game. If you succeed, you shall continue my legacy. If you fail… you will end up like the others. I wish you the best of luck.”

A sudden flash of a bright light blinds you momentarily, and when you open your eyes again, you are no longer on your couch. Looking around, you see the confused expressions of fifteen others, everyone’s bodies floating in space.

In the blink of an eye, the ground materializes, revealing the setting as a small and quiet town. How long will it remain this quiet, you wonder, sensing an uneasy feeling. In any case..

This is your reality now.


Day 1 begins! It will end 7:45 PM EDT [UTC-4] on June 20, 2016.

I hardclaim Serial Killer lynch me for a free win

now that the obligatory lof d1 meme is out of the way, I probably wont be on for most of day 1.

I have my last day of finals tomorrow (even though this entire week is finals week i have two finals tomorrow back to back) so i probably wont be on until late afternoon or evening tomorrow. So maybe ill be around for the last hour or two of the day? I'll read the thread (maybe) during night 1, i probably will be too braindead to read it when i get back.

Maybe I will come back and meme a bit. Depends on how serious the discussion is seeming when i get back. just kidding im probably going to meme anyways :twisted:

Seriously though I don't think massclaiming in this setup is a bad idea. Only real question is when to do it. With how many PRs there are+us narrowing it down after finding which ones are in the setup we might be able to cheese to a win.
