I think that he is scum. Anyone who goes the extra mile to even announce that they will not post is scummy. He could be a Townie who is scared to be scumread, but he is probably just scum who does not want to scumslip. I will check if he goes online. If he does, then it would seem more scummy, because he could just be busy. Here are a few new questions:

1. What are your thoughts on Unorthodox's post?

2. When should we start massclaiming?

3. Do we need to have a trustable Town Leader?

I already made my comments on all of them. We should start massclaiming around Day 3, which is not too early, but it is also not going to be MyLo or anything. Also, I said that we need someone who we can trust to lead the Town. If an experienced player is a confirmed Town role, they should consider revealing earlier. If anyone is Transporter, they should reveal early.

1. As I stated before, I don't like it, the fact that he had to announce that he will not post d1 is pretty scummy IMO.

2. No the for the first 2-3 days. It would just help scum more then town and give them targets to kill and targets for the witch to reap havoc with.

3. Well, it would always help to have one. But, unless he or she is confirmed (which is hard to do in FM), then I would not nearly trust him or her with valuable info as much. So I really don't think it's necessary with this said.

I already made my comments on all of them. We should start massclaiming around Day 3, which is not too early, but it is also not going to be MyLo or anything. Also, I said that we need someone who we can trust to lead the Town. If an experienced player is a confirmed Town role, they should consider revealing earlier. If anyone is Transporter, they should reveal early.

B) Yes? Have you ever played a game with Mel...? Sometimes people get frustrated and yell and use naughty words. That's a part of life. Now, you could compare a person's reaction to their usual behavior. Like "X person is usually able to stay pretty calm under pressure when I've seen them play as Town. But this one time, X flipped out in all caps and cursing, so I think they're scum because this is not their usual reaction". But you need something to compare it to, because some people just overreact to everything, or some people just never seem to react at all- it depends on the personality. In my first game, NFM16, we mislynched a Townie on D2 because this person kept flipping out and using all caps when they were accused, which just made people accuse them even more, and etc. It turns out that that's just that person's normal behavior.

C) I've already explained like 3 times that we are all on different time zones and different schedules and all that crap. Honestly, I think it's nice when people let us know that they're done posting for the day, or that they'll be super busy and won't be able to post tomorrow, etc. It's nice to have that heads-up that someone is simply doing rl things, and that's why they're quiet, or so we know we can't expect them to change their vote or something. I see lots of players in games posting things like "going to bed now", so that everyone knows they are done posting for a while.

Could this be abused, could the person be lying? Yes. But at the end of the day, that person is going to be inactive for X amount of time, either way. It's up to you if you want to scumread everyone's temporary absences or not. I don't really feel that it's worth the time, since I think it's NAI, unless you have some other piece of evidence to use with it. I also know that there are some people who just always lurk, even when they're Town (although that's stupid and nobody should play that way).

D) Maybe he wanted to say that he wouldn't be posting again, because he figured people like you would be super quick to scumread him for not posting. I mean, if he hadn't given a heads-up, and then just simply stopped posting until D2- would you (And Alex, you too?) have then suspected and called him out for being so quiet? I think that it's always good to post and share your ideas when you can. But as I said before- I don't think there is too much information that we can gather on D1 that can be used by itself.
