This is a mistake. You should never claim a role early unless forced to reveal - even if you are a neutral. If he was an actual survivor, he would want to stay quiet and not reveal as killing roles do not count on Survivors to help with votes as Survivors typically side with the Town. Therefore, best not to reveal, especially as he was an Amnesiac, not a Survivor. Therefore, once he reveals, it becomes obvious that he was lying, thus becoming a target for investigative roles. He becomes a target as Survivor becomes an impossibility once the Serial Killer and Arsonist roles are established - he was either the Amnesiac or a liar - either way, a suspicious player that evil roles could capitalize upon to place an accusation on and if not get lynched, at least remove suspicion from themselves. Therefore, best to not say anything and have the evil roles have to deal with an extra townie once he becomes one - or just wait it out to become an evil role himself and try to win by himself, or join the mafia, unless they all die on the same night.
I'd argue that this is a good stratigy or atleast neutral. The execution in this game was sub par, no offence Hip, but it worked amazingly in Game B. Fooled even the SK into attacking the real survivor. Also in all games prior the survivor revealed early.
