I'm honestly still trying to figure out what one could possibly discuss on D1 to be honest. There are no events to discuss and, in my previous game, D1 speculation was apparently somewhat frowned upon. Not that it bothers me since I don't really agree - I think D1 speculation is really the best thing you can do D1...

But I have no idea how to start this type of productive discussion. Maybe it would be easier if you (the experienced players I mean) showed us how it's done? What questions we should ask, what discussion topics are best, etc. I can totally share my opinion on anything, but when it comes to finding something significant for people to give their opinions on...well, I'm at a loss there tbh.

As a sidenote though, I'll be going to sleep now since it's 4 AM and I've been working all night. I did finish all my work though, surprisingly, so I'll be here tomorrow. I'll answer whatever questions come up when I wake up tomorrow.

Alright, so let's get serious.

SirCakez (click here for his ISO) has pinged me a few times. Note how in this post, he asks a perfectly reasonable question. Proceeding that, in this post he says that everyone should offer their own opinion. Note that he doesn't answer his own question. He displays this behaviour again in this post, with another question that he doesn't follow up with.

His other posts are almost normal, but they're in stark contrast to everything else he's said. My overall impression of him at the moment is that of someone trying to look like they're helping and to appear to try to guide the Town, while putting in as little effort as possible.

This read is susceptible to change, but here's my stance for the moment.

@CJBlack44: The previous meta of this forum was to reserve Day 1 for shitposting memes. Things have taken a turn, and Day 1 can be valuable for discussion (note SFM10, with 46 pages of discussion on Day 1). Scum are more likely to slip today, as they need time to gauge how people react and to get a foothold on the game.

Because I don't want other players to feel influenced by what the person asking the question answers. I usually don't answer questions that I ask for this reason.

I didn't say anything about experienced players not answering....
To the first question: Mafia is higher priority, as we do not need to eliminate the Witch to win and the Witch does not know who the Mafia is. The Mafia is currently stronger and has more resources compared to the Witch.
To the second question: It depends on the message. If it's a benign message that does not appear scummy then don't reveal it. If it requests a claim or asks you to "work with us" then you should reveal it ASAP. It's up to the individual player.

Again, I never said I was a "higher authority". I literally meant that I didn't want people to associate the question with the answer of the person asking and consequently answer differently.

Question to everyone: should players reveal if they receive an anonymous message and if so, what it contains?

Yes they should reveal that they received an anonymous message immediately... As for what it contains yes they should but we'll never know if they are telling the truth, that is until the spy reveals and says that they are wrong. Also if the message contains sensitive material then they also should have the right to censor what they say and when they say what the message contains.
But IMO it would be scummy behavior to not reveal what the whole message said eventually.
