Requesting protection isn't really that scummy. If memory serves both me and Metrion requested protection day 1 in 5A...we were lookout and investigator.
What gets me is how it was requested.

Give the investigatives targets, let framers rush to them.
Give the protectives targets, tell the scum who not to visit.
As for TK/TS/Jailor...well, you can't really for TK, the only ones who should be given a target is Escort but I think they should use their judgement. Transporter shouldn't get a target. Jailor could though, I suppose. That's all though.

In the future we can make plans for the roles, once we're more organized and have better leads.

Well, it is going to be hard to do anything right now. It's day one, everyone is alive. We do not know who is who, only that there are three citizens, Godfather, Mafioso, Town Power and either Vigilante or Veteran that is confirmed (since Town Killing is only two roles, it's easy to assume such).

Especially since no-one wants someone to order someone to do it's action onto someone. That would only create unneeded WIFOMs within Town's roles.

No, that will just make scum not visit that role, and have a free night of targeting someone else without having pressure from X.
a) Cause nothing, doing only X's action.
b) Mislynch/Misaction because of a Witch.
c) Executioner/Jester could abuse that.

No town support, two protectives.
only 3 random town slots
One slot which is non-killing, haven't seen that used before.

Overall it would seem we have a decent advantage.
