Town of Salem 1.5 - Outdated?

Are Town Leader (formerly Town Power) and the resulting Mayor/Retributionist buffs good ideas?

Buff Mayor and Retributionist so they can fit in Town Leader with the more powerful Jailor.

I'm giving it to the Ret as a means of wasteful self-confirmation and all-round power. Mayor is extremely strong late game, Jailor early game. Neither needs more power right now, as far as I can see. Lynch-immune Ret, while probably a stupid idea, actually works.

I like the idea of Town(Power), but Mayor, even with Doc heals allowed, is no where near Mayor. Mayor and Jailor are both confirm able. Mayor gets 3 votes, which is helpful in a few situations. But Jailor, on the other hand, can anonymously get information, which reduces chance of being attacked. They can kill during night, a one-judge trial. And Jailor is easy to confirm too. Mayor would need a bigger buff. Ret is on par to Mayor, but not to Jailor.

Yes it would be. But if they are of uneven balance, they can't be in the same category. I might come up with something. If I do, it'll be in role ideas. You have to either buff Ret and Mayor, or nerf Jailor. One option must be done.

The whole talking thing is the whole point of the role though. I'd rather take away the protection tbh; your version is just a stronger Town Protective that can execute people.

We should give the vigilante a jailor guilt...

I was just in a game where i was the vigilante (ranked) and the mayor revealed d2. Everyone was claiming except one player, who was saying things like "fuck you mayor" instead of claiming. I shot him, and he was the doctor, and in the dead chat he asked me If I was mental.

What if we brought mafia head (from FM) to Town of Salem?

It would be made up of the godfather, and other powerful mafia roles, and the alignment would be unique to a game.

Hi -- I love your ideas! Except for the spy one. I love the spy the way it is, and hope it does not change. It adds a twist to the already interesting game. If the Town Power class becomes relevant, the Spy can be buffed or remain unchanged in order to be added to it! :lol:

I like everything but one thing: Doc healing mayor goes against basically the entire backstory and I know you'll say lore<balance but the reason it was there was balance! Except that I like it

The "backstories" on the wiki are fan-made. They have no weight at all. That said, it was only pseudo-balance. The Bodyguard could still protect the Mayor, so in a Mayor/BG game it made no difference at all. Letting the Doctor heal the Mayor simply eliminates a weakness caused by, essentially, RNG and the role list.

Few changes suggested sound nice, but lots seems bad.

I dont like that arsonist are 100% confirm-able by investigations.
Having people not aware that they were doused is AWESOME, as it prevents lookout confirming them.

I just wanted to comments on the Arsonist changes, so I like that:
-Douses now give no feedback notification
-Dousing an undoused target now extends the draw detector by one night

I would also add that a sherrif can tell if someone is currently doused (suggesting a non-arso, however, it could be an arsonist dousing another arsonist).

This would buff arsonist well and give them a fairer chance to win.

Blackmailer being able to read whispers would be way too overpowered.

If it was a Mayor game, they could see who is Jailor, Retributionist, Veteran and all those important roles. It would be devastating.
