Other Gender Option?

Hi everyone,

As I've been playing the game, every single time I die, it always says "he". It's always bothered me that there's no "Other" gender option. I think it would be fairly simple to code, as after all, all you would need to do is replace he/she with they. Anyways, I think this is a reasonable request.

(Also I'd really like to change my username to something that isn't related to an anti-violent video game lawyer)

Can't remember, but female character would change it I think?

Also devs only do username changes in exceptional circumstances such as people using your name or something close to it to attack other people and hurt your reputation or if you chose an extremely vulgar username.

Female skins change the gender to she/her.
I'm not against people who go by they/them pronouns but this is only a game and really, it's a character, not really you...

But to each their own I guess.

It is, but still, I feel that my character is a basic representation of my own self in a virtual environment, and I want the game to be use the same pronouns that I use and not have people misinterpret my gender [identity].

I feel it's probably unnecessary since it only applies to a small demographic (and the tumblrtards, but I don't count them as people), but if the devs can find an easy way to make it work I have no problems.

Really a failure of the English language more than anything... "he" is generally used as just a generic if the gender is unknown. Change it to "they" and the grammar nazis will be after you.

Other gender option is something I'd be in support of. Why are pronouns attached to skin anyway?

because the majority of them are obviously male and female.

Yeti doesn't need a gender. Yeti is a gender in itself.

Actually, you would be wrong. For instance, the grammatically correct form of "They is dead" would be "They're dead." and so on and so forth. They/them doesn't just stop at they/them. It also includes they're and their. So no grammar nazis would go for your head if there was an other option for gender. Of course, with this new gender option, the devs would also have to allow gender changing within the profile itself, which should be a feature in the first place.

We've had this discussions somewhere (I can't be bothered to go dig it out), it's not necessary, and more than likely won't be added. End of story, really.

but but but...

It's simple coding... couple word changes and it can be added to the options.... I'd think this would've been easier...

And besides when the time comes this game may have media all over it about it being cissexist. If they add this it's not going to create controversy.

It's also easy for GameFreak, the ones who produce the Pokemon Games, to add such into their games, but I have yet to see them implement anything similar, and they've been around longer than we have.

ToS? Cissexist? HA! Have you read ANY of the forum posts?

Although adding an option to swap female/male pronouns in the options menu is an actual solution to this "problem", if it bugs you that much just use a skin of whatever gender you want the game to refer to you as. Not hard.

One of the things is that this game RPG or Role Playing Game. Your character doesn't reflect yourself, it reflects the character your playing as.
