Our developers are working on some changes that will go a long way to help new players take those first steps into ranked, and get a lot of game knowledge on the way! We are listening, and delivering sweet, sweet changes.

We are going to be adding the Ranked Practice Mode that has been a long time coming! This should allow players to play with the ranked role list with their friends, and not have to always go to custom to play it. Not only does this open up custom to a bit more creativity, but we will also be changing the ranked requirements to require 10 games of Ranked Practice Mode played. This will let players experience more roles in the game, and help to introduce them to ranked strategies!

The problem is matchmaking is screwed because players can't be gathered due to short q times. Elite players are being gathered with people who have recalled the game from a year ago, that's why there are so many complaints.

While I don't know how much this will help Ranked Mode, at least this gives people who want to play unranked but with the Ranked rolelist a place to go. Custom can be such a crapshoot.

At this point adding a pre ranked mode will be useless, had you thought of a week ago it might have been a better idea. You need to force a 5 minute queue timer to help separate elo levels.

No, this is a bad idea. My ELO is terrible because of a gamethrower called Burebista who I got literally 20 games in a row with. HE DOES NOT STOP. Other times, town just sucks. I would have high ELO if the community wasn't trash. Had a game with Vig where I shot the Mafioso, found GF and Arso, and yet the town lost because they were so bad.

No it isn't. That's your own fault for not skipping a couple of queues to avoid him. We all started at 1200 Elo, we all carried horrible towns by ourselves to get to where we are. Just because you haven't been able to do that means others can't either.

Playing a lot does not guarantee high elo. You have to be actually good at the game, you have to know how to lead towns efficiently.

You cannot just play a lot and expect to pass 1400-1600 Elo (this is the borderline between low/high elo) You have to be good.

Something needs to be done. Ranked used to be a fun mode with experienced players, now it is just full of players that do not understand the rules or even care to learn them. I liked joining a ranked game and knowing 80% of the players, now I never get to play with anyone I know. Please help to get it back to the way it was before. - "Stabby McMurder"

this won't help tho. the problem isn't newbs it's trolls. Just make the Ranked Requirement 200 games. with at least 100 won. if you think I'm kidding, I assure you I am not.

and have to re-do all 200 games and 100 wins again if ur ever suspended.

To add on to this, if offline for more than a month, they have to re-do it again. I have no patience for trolls, newbs or idiots.

Why should that be a thing? Just cause someone didn't have the time to play for awhile or didn't have the means to play doesn't mean they have completely forgotten how to play the game. That would take away the fun for so many people who play the game legitimately just whenever they can.

I agree trolls and newbs and idiots who all don't actually play are annoying as all hell, but that shouldn't be taken out on people who love the game but can't play or as often as they might like.

Id honestly up the games to 25 pre-ranked game before ranked, and 25 games of any other mode before pre-ranked is unlocked.

There should be requirements for the preranked because, if there isnt a requirement, preranked will just become a quick-route for people to troll people who are actually trying.

50games is the minimal number of games in order to play, bht half have to be preranked. A player could play as many classic games as they want, but if they dont have those 25 preranked games, they cant touch ranked. 10 is too low, 25 should be perfect.

50 games played is still the requirement, with at least 10 of those games being with the practice mode. This will stop the issues of players with 50 Classic only games going into ranked and not understanding the roles they haven't seen yet. It also gives players a way to practice the ranked role list without it counting towards their ELO or win statistics and lets them play with friends.

Seems like a lot of positives to me. I think any comments about raising the ranked requirement to 200 games played and 100 wins is going to make more people (in the 51-200 games played range) upset then it would make the users with 200+ games happy.

Yeah I am making the timer longer. It was set to reduce based on the number of people playing. I will be extending it to a minimum of 3 minutes.

Yeah I am making the timer longer. It was set to reduce based on the number of people playing. I will be extending it to a minimum of 3 minutes.

Let's take this one step at a time. I want this to be a normal mode that people can use scrolls and party with friends but be able to practice ranked and make sure we dont get "Classic only" players in ranked. If it needs further tweaks we will address it after the initial patch. This patch is coming before 1.5, probably going to be this Sunday night.

Scrolls and parties take away from actually learning ranked. Someone plays ten practice games with a jailor scroll, goes into real ranked, gets transporter and fucks up everything.

You don't have to have played every role to understand its mechanics. Simply playing against it does a great deal. LoL doesn't require you have played with every one of their 100 champions to play ranked. In fact back when I played you only had to own 10 champs or something close to that.

Ranked isn't suppose to be some system where your first time playing you are a master of the game. That is what ELO is for. Simply having a decent understanding of the game and all of the roles is enough to start your adventures into ranked.
