Public Test Realm going public soon!

Cool, that sounds like a plan. Didn't you say that the test starts saturday? I remember reading about when it will start, but I might be mistaken.

Wow, a four-man staff indie game? That explains the length of the development cycle, you must be some seriously talented programmers to have the alpha up and working as well as it is!

...Out of curiosity, one of your contract artists wouldn't happen to be 2Snacks of Two Best Friends Play fame, would it? The art style of the player avatars always heavily reminded me of him, though I know that 2Snacks is extremely busy these days and I have no idea whether or not he'd have time to help an indie game project.

That said, do you have any hopes/plans on getting a bigger staff in the near future, perhaps if you get a Steam release?

Our art contractors are awesome dudes but not 2Snacks. We plan on growing a lot over the next year, hopefully to a full staff.

We will be trying to get it out today or tomorrow. We want to make sure it looks good and there arent any major issues.

The PTR will be available, off and on, until we release in June. We will be updating the PTR frequently. Live will only be updated after we are pretty sure all the major bugs found on the PTR are fixed.

In other words, whenever there are features to be testing, it will be live. After the lobby testing phase, (and perhaps periods in between) the PTR servers will go offline.

The PTR will come down for us to patch it at random times but shouldn't ever be down for more than an hour or so at a time.

Yup, our goal is to have 1.0 released by the end of June (hopefully). We have been working on the game for about 2 years now as well, about 3 months full time so far. When we started our Kickstarter back in Feb, we had just finished the Alpha. Some of the players who played during that time probably have horror stories haha.

Update: We are working hard to get the PTR up. We are waiting on some artwork and are using the time to finish up the party system.

So that's why the PTR was not up yesterday...well okay Pyro...you and your devs take more time to create the perfect game while I wait here in the forums for the PTR to be released...

We won't release until we think it's ready of course. We hope to have it done today if art comes in. If that happens, tonights update will have the new front end and friends list but NOT the party system. Then the party system would come in a few days.
